............................................////Sean Nicholson…Bass Guitar / Vocals / songwriter Sean is a native of Boyle Co Roscommon but now lives in Grange Co Sligo. He has been playing music since he was 8 years old and first played in a band at the ripe old age of 14, since then he has worked with a vast number of musicians. In 1986 like many other young Irish men and Women he took the boat for England. Sean worked with several Bands and Musicians during the 11 years he spent in London. Around 1989 Sean met and teamed up with well known singer/songwriter Jim Miller. That’s when he found his talent for song writing. In the years that followed Sean and Jim co wrote many great songs including Paddy’s tour of duty which was recorded by Seamus Moore, Drowning the shamrock, Guitar for hire to name but a few. After returning to Ireland in 1997 he penned some fabulous solo compositions including the Rossport 5, The ballad of the brown bomber, Keep it country and Castlerea, When asked about his influences…. Sean says my greatest influence was my dad the late Jonnie Nicholson (rip). Dad never played music but loved it with a passion. He was tireless in his efforts helping me persue a career in music from my boyhood into my late teens. Thanks Dad miss you , sorry you couldn’t be around to hear some of my songs.
