About Me

Having concentrated on competin' with my influences in the songwriting realm over the past decade by gigging, studying and writing loads of poetry, I now feel comfortable and proud to be approaching the world with the above five songs which give you an idea of just what the following years will have in store upon this artistic pathway I have chosen.
No.1 was written to support these songs and present my listeners with some of my hopes and aspirations for the future. With much help and expertise from Harvey Summers at Broadoak Studios, Bexhill and invaluable support from Tymon Dogg, Steve Demetri, Colin Gibson and James Friislawrence we have managed to produce to satisfaction a possible commercial hit. This Is Only Me will be representing my debut and solo album which I'm currently workin' on with Harvey. Again, hats off to Tymon (what a distinct & beautiful violin arrangement!) and the wonderful Madeleine Milla (supportin' with piano and backin' vocals), a big thank's to Simon Page with his drums (the album's soundin' Great now! and it's in time!!).The other two songs Time And Space & The Saddest Song are being produced with a long term project called KatJam ( A European traveling band with no ego! Look Out!).
The newly additioned track 'Don't Let It Slip Away' is a personal favorite, where my heart is on sleeve for an old flame. And with much help from The Paul Weaver Quartet and Simon from Orientis, Now, I would say this is to be, well for at least me... timeless!!.(Should mention... Recordings, mixes and the mastering was with the help from Harvey Summers at Broadoak Studios, Dan Van Lorn at Tonic Studios, St Leonards,Andy Warren [Daisyworld], Simon Vout at Orientis Recording Services and Tymon Dogg).

Sounds Like:"Jonathan Martin's debut EP No.1 has been a long time coming, during which time the Hastings singer has amassed several albums worth of material. Recorded with many of the town's most respected musicians, the delicacy of Martin's compositions largely shine through. Beatles-y title track aside, the EP plays to his strengths as a sensitive balladeer. Martin is at his gentle best on songs like This Is Only Me (shortlisted for a National Songwriters Award), which drifts in like a fantasy FM hit from an alternate, dreamlike 1970s."- Review by Stuart Huggett, East Magazine.
