Biography:
Devotion has become a household name among Asian-Americans across North America, and not just because it means dedication to a person or principle. Devotion is actually the name of a promising international singing group, consisting of Orange County natives Richmond Andal, Eric Cruz, Rodney Hidalgo, Ian Pesigan, and John-Paul Riturban.
Before leaving their home of Southern California to move to the Philippines in 2003, Devotion had already released one independent album & two singles under indie label Jamboe Entertainment, and seven different compilations released in the US. Devotions debut single When I became one of the top sellers in many Tower Records stores all over the San Francisco Bay area, as well as reaching the Top 10 in sales for the Stones Town Mall retail store in San Francisco, CA. In february of 2000, they then released their debut album Image of Devotion. With original ballads such as "When I, Girl Its You, and My Prayer becoming more familiar among the Asian-American community, it wasnt long until people across North America were catching on to Devotions soulful pop brand of music and their charismatic performances. Devotion then embarked on their Image of Devotion Tour, with stops in such major markets as San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Houston, and Las Vegas to name a few. Despite being one of the most sought-after recording artists within the Asian-American community, the group decided to come to the Philippines in 2003 to share their music and heart-felt songs.
Viva Records released Devotions self-titled/self-produced album Devotion in July 2003, consisting of 14 tracks, 12 of which were written & produced by Devotion themselves. The albums carrier single So Wonderful was so well received by radio stations that it was included in the Philippine film Walang Kapalit. It was their second inclusion in a movie soundtrack, having already been included in the music for US motion-picture The Debut , starring Dante Basco and Joy Bisco. Following their success with "So Wonderful", Devotion recorded a duet with platinum Philippine artist Sarah Geronimo entitled Twin Hearts to use as the theme song for a soap opera of the same title.
Today Devotion is back in the states working on their next project, a CD/DVD combo release of all new material plus video footage from past concerts and events both here in the States and in Asia.
