Jordan Abrantes, also known as DJ Shakee, started DJing in 1991. Along with a few friends, they started a mobile DJ company and worked for a variety of events from birthday parties, weddings, school dances and church events.
In 1995, DJ Shakee made the transition into DJing clubs. He has DJed all over Los Angeles, and Orange County, in venues such as The Arena, Circus, The Muse, Bar 330, Plush Lounge, The Palace (now Avalon), Crash Mansion, and more. He was the resident at Jillian's (Universal City Walk) for over 2 years. He has also been the resident DJ for Lucky Strike (The Block of Orange) on friday nights, and Seven Lounge in West Hollywood on Thursdays.
In 2002, DJ Shakee made his on-air radio debut on Hot 92.3 FM, Los Angeles. He was a regular guest on The Friday Night House Party. He has DJed events for Hot 92.3, KIIS FM, and KBIG. Through the radio stations, he has DJed promotional events and concerts and has been the opening DJ for legendary acts such as Earth Wind & Fire, Morris Day & The Time, Boyz II Men, New Edition, War, Al Green, Guy… The list goes on. He has DJed parties at celebrity homes such as Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band, and private events for Will Smith.
In 2003, DJ Shakee made a few television appearances. Most notably on SiTV's The Drop. He was one of the rotating resident DJs of the show. Later in the show, when the DJ feature of the show was removed, DJ Shakee remained involved with the show by editing all of the video dance mixes for every episode of the second, third and fifth seasons.
With the new digital age and video mixing slowly becoming more popular, DJ Shakee is in the processes of merging his day job with his first love. Being a video editor by day and DJ by night, he is combining his skills of both to stay ahead of the game and to stay original. DJ Shakee is an experienced, professional and versatile DJ who can rock any crowd.
