weaving lhasa apso fur rugs, changing lightbulbs, eating anything with chopsticks, ignoring you, pretending to not get it, chasing my cat, undereducating the masses, overeducating the few, pitying those who don't care they're being lied to, paying a lot of money for a good haircut.
that cute little dancing boy with two right shoes and mis-matched skull socks.
still.
better than yours.
ok, tori amos...i have 59 cd's by her, of course i'm freakin' in love with her. and this version of sugar was hands-down the raddest thing to come off of 'to venus and back.' i also heart the mormon tabernacle choir, miles davis, leonard cohen, and everything in between. but not on either side. just in between. no castrated, soulless, wussy pop music or frigid, wailing females with venus envy.
mary poppins. the breakfast club...i heart ally sheedy. the princess bride. that stupid kirsten dunst cheerleader movie that they play on the usa network five times a day so it's the only thing to watch on my day off. the neverending story. mission videos. i used to love clerks. monty python and the quest for the holy grail. velvet goldmine. i heart stanley kubrick, too. though i can't watch most of his movies anymore. they need to re-rate the shining, though. that one's my favorite.
i hate tv now...but i do rather fancy AbFab, the simpsons, friends, daria, japanese gameshows...i used to be a *huge* x-files nerd. obsessive, even....sometimes i get sucked into e!true hollywood story (why, WHY?)...various cartoons...the only shows i currently catch on a regular basis are house and the office.
if i could cram all the books i like into this space then there may be a problem. i do love the book of mormon the very best, though.
other favorites are Bobby and Kitty, which i haven't found again since i saw it at the library when i was 8. neil gaiman is my hero, i love anything by edward gorey, dostoyevsky's notes from the underground, john steinbeck, charles baudelaire, leonard cohen, jack kerouac, moby dick is one of my all-time favorite novels, calvin and hobbes, various comic books, lots of others on lots of subjects...
neal a. maxwell, bruce r. mc conkie. unwavering pillars of strength and inspiration who endured to the end.
