The Lord has turned all our sunsets into sunrise. -- St. Clement of Alexandria

About Me

The Lord has been kind to me. He has given me all I have prayed for. My life is his. I follow him obediently."So long as thou shalt live, thy lord forsake not;
neither for gold nor for any other reward in the world
abandon one whom thou art pledged to protect.

Be more apt to give than to deny, and follow after gentleness.
Be especially gentle with women and with them
that creep on the floor and with poets,
and be not violent to the common people.
Be no tale-bearer, nor utterer of falsehoods; be not talkative."

Reason directs those who are truly pious and philosophical to honour and love only what is true, declining to follow traditional opinions, if these be worthless. For not only does sound reason direct us to refuse the guidance of those who did or taught anything wrong, but it is incumbent on the lover of truth, by all means, and if death be threatened, even before his own life, to choose to do and say what is right. Do you, then, since ye are called pious and philosophers, guardians of justice and lovers of learning, give good heed, and hearken to my address; and if ye are indeed such, it will be manifested. For we have come, not to flatter you by this writing, nor please you by our address, but to beg that you pass judgment, after an accurate and searching investigation, not flattered by prejudice or by a desire of pleasing superstitious men, nor induced by irrational impulse or evil rumours which have long been prevalent, to give a decision which will prove to be against yourselves. For as for us, we reckon that no evil can be done us, unless we be convicted as evil-doers or be proved to be wicked men; and you, you can kill, but not hurt us. -- St. Justin Martyr, First Apology, 2.. ..
I care not, Fortune, what you me deny:
You cannot rob me of free Nature’s grace;
You cannot shut the windows of the sky,
Through which Aurora shows her brightening face;
You cannot bar my constant feet to trace
The woods and lawns by living stream at eve:
Let health my nerves and finer fibres brace,
And I their toys to the great children leave:
Of fancy, reason, virtue nought can me bereave.

My Interests

I am devoted to a life of the mind, study, prayer, my lover and the loving family he has given me.~~~~~ "If I am not [in God's grace], may it please God to put me in it; if I am, may it please God to keep me there." -- St. Joan of Arc"If I speak with the tongues of men, and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And if I should distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I should deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely; is not puffed up; is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never falleth away: whether prophecies shall be made void, or tongues shall cease, or knowledge shall be destroyed." -- St. Paul, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8~~~~~"On green mounds and ramparts, among the broken stones of ruined fortresses and sepulchers, in lonely woods, or by deserted pools, the fairy divinities dwell, and there their palaces rise. In eternal sunshine they hold their revels, and they feast forever on magic mead and magic ale, and draw therefrom everlasting youth and beauty."

I'd like to meet:

I have met my king:
Thank you, Abdias, for being my dearest friend, my family, and my lover."I do not seek to understand that I may believe, but I believe in order to understand. For this I believe--that unless I believe, I should not understand." -- St. Anselm of Canterbury, Proslogium, Chapter 1"Believing is an act of the intellect assenting to the divine truth by command of the will moved by God through grace." -- St. Thomas Aquinas
