About Me

If I told you, I would have to...take you out for a cup of joe.

My Interests

Art, hiking, traveling, hanging out with friends, reading, eating, drinking wine.

I'd like to meet:

No one really, life is full for me already and I actually know all the people in my "friends" group except for a few lucky souls. Who else can really say the same?

Music:

The Cure, The Smiths, and then Morrissey, Rush, The Beatles, The Who, The Cars, Gordon Lightfoot (thanks to Mom), Canadian bands such as Tragically Hip and The Lowest of the Low, John Mayer, Blue Rodeo, Stereophonics, the list is of course, too exhausive.

Movies:

Clerks. Trainspotting. Angela's Ashes. Sliding Doors. Pump up the Volume. Hard Candy. Sideways.

Television:

Law and Order. "Several years ago" I followed Joe Millionaire (with Evan, the hot construction worker), and because "you are only allowed one reality show per decade," I haven't followed one since. They have just gone way too overboard with these shows but its a free country, if you don't like it, turn the channel. Or some people have too much time on their hands:)

Books:

"A Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger."Gig: Americans talk about their Jobs", by Edited by John Bowe, et. al."About a Boy", by Nick Hornby"Trainspotting", by Irvine Welsh"Anthem", by Ayn Rand

Heroes:

Superman

My Blog

Jess is turning 30

I am absolutely horrible about updating my blogs, here or elsewhere, but I feel now it is a good occasion to note that my last days of being 29 are coming to a close. What a wild three decad...

ALA Conference in The Big Easy....

I'm enjoying some free time as I pound the pavement for my first library job. I have two (and possibly another) interviews scheduled for the upcoming ALA Conference in New Orleans, that me and Mi...

So long, MCEER

Today is my final day as a graduate assistant at MCEER Information Service at UB. This officially ends my career as a library student, and marks my official entrance into the library world (or library...

Time to join the present day

The past is the past, today is all we have for now. I think this as I look back on my antiquated blogs. How time has a way of getting away from you. That's an excuse I like to use often. I am done wit...

Oh well

It turns out I didn't get the job I was talking about last time.. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be and there is something bigger and better out there waiting for me. The search for sanity continues..

School and new job, new life?

Just had an interview I think went well today. You know the interviewer makes comments that have to be followed up with "not to be presumptuous..."? Anyway, I think it may be in the bag.. but whatever...

Feel like singing an old Go Gos song....Vacation

This has to be the most surreal week of my life in the past year. That must be because I have the week off from work in the deep of July! I must have swam all day today.. I am using my time wisely thi...

A very wet 4th of July

All of us in the Buffalo Niagara area just had a fourth of July they'll never forget. A real time to make lemonade out of lemons. I have a very big extended family on my mother's side (10 siblings=abo...

Blue Rodeo at the Square

Went to see a cool Canadian band called Blue Rodeo tonight. That's one of the few things I like about the Buffalo area. A lot of regional talent and a loyal following to go along with it.
