The Thomas Harris trilogy is exquisite, much better than the movies. If you're not obsessed with Hannibal you will be after you read it. Also the Dark Tower series from Stephen King is a personal favorite. I wanna start reading the Harry Potter books but that seems a little too ambitious for me.
