blips an bleeps..

About Me

The starting point was naïvely experimenting with old guitar pedals. Pulling the power out and sampling the noise, plugging the output back into the input and listening to my pedals scream. A teenage love of all things Crackle, Zip and Bleep. Pretty quickly I found out about computers, and their boisterous potential.
That was eight years ago, since then I've had material released by Crazy Fungus Records (US), Dance Like No Ones Watching (UK), Quiet Design (US) and Hollow Soul Records (UK). I've added Melodicas and Glockenspiels, Guitars and Saws, Bells and Stylophones. I've bent circuit boards, smashed light bulbs and pissed off neighbours.
I've had works performed at New Music Festivals in Texas, London and toured all over the UK. I've played in churches, squats, concert halls, warehouses, venues, pubs, front rooms and cafes and met some truly inspiring people. I hope to continue to meet fantastic people and play in more weird and wonderful places along the way..
I'll update this page periodically with new songs/pictures..
Reviews:
"Blissed-out glitchtronica from the latest bedroom genius to follow in the footsteps of Richard D. James. Cue: luscious, melodic blips'n'beeps"
- NME
"Pleasant soothing instrumental post-rock flavoured organic electronica..Clever, rewarding, complex without ever becoming cluttered, a healthy example of less being more. Gentle guitars, bright glokenspiel, warm melodica and all flowing in such an easy to listen to manner. Inviting, glowing, welcoming, delightfully creative and just right – in fact, rather highly recommended" (Album of the week)
- Organ Magazine
"Project Serendipity is about the builds, blips and beats. Add to that some Melodica and Guitar work and you have a superb album. Constantly working on dynamic structures like a more creative and innovative Squarepusher with Slint style builds"
- Last Hours
"[Project Serendipity] sounds like 80's Computer Game Music, Some bits even sound like the music when the C64 cassettes loaded but faster..If I could do the robot dance I'd do it to this music"
- The New Wave of Cut and Paste
