About Me
Astonishing things are happening in the career of the 21 year old NATASHA THOMAS. Shortly after she resigns her record deal with a major record label, Natasha and her management found their own label Place on Fire a joint venture with the independent record label zyx records, a real artist lover! Why? Because she wants to make her own decisions: what she is going to do, who she will work with, her future as an artist and singer, her musical direction and her self-determination as a woman. And she does that very thoroughly. She is choosing her producers, decides which titles will be on the CD, who will write the songs and who will perform with her and where. She co-wrote 6 of the 15 tracks from her second album PLAYIN WITH FIRE with her manager and vocal coach Ginger Mackenzie, herself a recording artist (4 albums released). She personally picked the other songs from several songwriters, decides what the video will be like and sets the budget the video treatment for SKIN DEEP was written by Natasha. Playing with fire? Maybe yes, but very clever indeed. There is no doubt that she has not only discovered her own style through the worldwide successful Lacoste campaign (since May 2004), she could also accomplish herself as a young business woman. The first single SKIN DEEP (produced by Tim Haws and Pete Kirtley) from her upcoming album PLAYIN WITH FIRE, is the official song for the Lacoste perfume "Touch Of Pink. Her second Album Playin With Fire is filled with creativity and self-confidence of a young but truly not foolish singer, who had her first chart success 3 years ago with the song "Why (Does Your Love Hurt So Much), at the age of 16! More hits like "Its Over Now (no. 12) and "Save Your Kisses For Me where still to come but that was not quite enough for Natasha. The second album finally she could make her own decisions and according to Natasha "the best music I was able to do. Even though the album was recorded in only 4 weeks in Berlin, The search for the 15 songs was done world wide over a period of 6 months! How has she decided which songs to take? "You have to feel emotionally moved or moved to get on the dance floor. Her favourites: The energetic title song PLAYIN WITH FIRE, from the Berlin Hit-Producer Taan Newjam (Paul Clees). 8 songs were produced by Oliver Pinelli (Wolfsheim, Yvonne Catterfeld) in his modern unique sound. CURIOUS with its catchy melody and these great beats STATE OF MIND just positive and very powerful SECRET a super groovy R&B Pop song Pinellis musicianship is shining through in the passion packed Diane Warren Song I DONT NEED TO, backed up by the Berlin based Viviology Gospel Choir. Oja Tunes were chosen to produce the old school R&B track TOUCHED ANOTHER GIRL and last but not least, one of Europes only female producers, Natalie Pho Duc alias Futah, was chosen for the classic power ballad CHASING LOVE. Many of the songs are quite personal where Natasha deals with past experiences: In WHAT UP (music by "Club Music Experts Torsten Stenzen & Jens Gad) she sings "I know you like that girlie pop, want me to be something that Im not, wont catch me at the candy shop, lickin on a lollipop a humorous line with a touch of sarcasm. STATE OF MIND should encourage people to go their own way and not listen to what other people say. Pretty committed for 19! "I am very proud of the album and I feel like it represents me. No matter what will happen, I am very proud of what I have done and I think that this is the most important point in my career." The Album will be released abroad in the UK, France, Spain, Scandinavia, Japan etc. Natasha rocks like never before!
