Born in Handsworth Samuel “Drago†Burris grew up in Birmingham City with his mother his father and his brothers. Moving from home to home Drago never really settled in one place for more than a couple years as hard times and the struggle of his father getting incarcerated from when he was only one brought added stress on his mothers shoulders. Growing up he was born into music as his father was a local Dj that played sound systems he would listen and absorb the sounds that was playing though out his life. Originally he planned a career in the computer industry as he loved video games and technology he later gained a strong interest in the music business where he believed he could make an impact in the growing Birmingham music scene. He started producing and set up his independent record company now known as Regal Records UK were he founded a rap group called Dark Knights back in 2002. Being from the streets his music reflected a street lifestyle and represented the struggle for black people coming out of England trying to come off the streets and do something positive, influenced by more American artist such as the late 2pac, Yukmouth and other west coast acts he also was inspired by P.Miller, Russell Simmons and more recant 50 cent for their business smart, he started to write down lyric after lyric until he dropped his first E.P The Future Part 1 in 2005 which sold over 5.000 copies in only a few months of release. Now set to take the industry by storm he has his debut album on the way titled “Time to Rise†and has just secured a distribution deal with Ditto Music and is ready to put his side of the story to the world, working with the likes of Pato Banton, WW.Dot. S-Squad, his father Bongo Star, MD7, Shim 1, Blood Brothers and most artists coming out of Birmingham this is going to be one of the most anticipated solo albums the city has ever witnessed and he’s doing it independent.
