I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm beginning to think I must be the last diehard, hopeless romantic left on this planet. I don't believe chivalry is dead. I'm rather old fashioned when it comes to women. I open car doors for a lady and help her on with her coat. When she and I walk somewhere, she should expect that I'll be holding her hand. I have many passsions, but one of my great passions is stimulating conversation, whether over coffee, sipping wine at a restaurant or more intimate settings.
I have two great children who I love dearly. When my daughter is in town, I love spending time with her. Both of my children are hilarious and keep me rolling with their special brand of humor. My son and his roommate moved into my house and for the moment, I've got furniture in places where furniture was not meant not be. This is a temporary state. My home seems to reflect my post-divorce life. Tons of adventure, coupled with a bit of chaos. As my home calms down and begins to return to normal, so will my life. At least the chaos part. The adventure piece of my life will never go away. My home also seems to be the hub when it comes to entertaining or company stopping by. The front door is always unlocked and the garage door is almost always open. Friends and neighbors congregate and are always welcome at my house. My house and my lifestyle exude hospitality. My family and friends are extensions of me and my hope is, they can become extensions of the woman I meet.
I love trying new things. Although I never learned to swim, I went white water rafting last year for the first time and loved it. I bought my first motorcycle this year, a Harley Sportster Custom 1200. She's a beauty. I love riding jet skis, dirt bikes, quads and anything else that moves fast. Life is an adventure and it's too short. I want to see and experience as much of life as I'm able in the short time we have on this planet. I love the feeling of being alive as new hills are crested or new sights are seen and new things tried. I always want to take the time to check out what's beyond the next ridge. But life can move a little fast too, which is why it's also important to diffuse and reflect. Occasionally we have to slow down and smell the roses and just enjoy what we have in our own backyards. I'm a dichotomy, I suppose. Move fast, then slow down and enjoy. If you don't take the time to look, sometimes beauty can pass you by. It's for this reason that I live in the moment.
I love a sense of humor and I love to laugh. I can be sarcastic at times. Sarcasm is not meant to be harmful and should never be used like that. Sarcasm is just another flavor of humor. I believe quick wit goes hand in hand with intellect. To quote a line from 'Reality Bites', there are those who get it and those who don't. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, you probably belong to that second category.
I cherish honesty in my friends and family and prefer to surround myself with those who are willing to extend me that same courtesy. If I have something in my teeth, let me know! I'm in great shape but only because I work at it, although I'm not obsessive about it. I can eat more pizza then you can, you better believe that! I'm very low maintenance. I enjoy the simplest things in life as much as I love fine dining. It doesn't take a lot to please me. I can have fun shopping for groceries or working around the house with the one that I love.
Drop me a line. I'd love to talk to you.

Music:

Last night you were so in to it
You told me secrets that
You've never told a soul
You were so nervous and
yet oh so comfortable
As we explored your image of love

I drank your wine
As you tatsted mine
I kissed your lips
You felt my body slip
Into your soul
I heard you moan
I almost cried 'cause it
was so beautiful

[ Chorus: ] Last night
I was inside of you
Last night
While making love to you
I saw the sun , the moon
The mountains and the rivers
I saw heaven when I made
sweet love to you

Last night, there was
no planning it
It was so special and
So very innocent
We talked of memories
Our favorite fantasies
As we explored our visions of love

And deep into the night
Right by the fireside
You felt my candlelight
In your soul
You felt incredible
I started to explode
I almost cried 'cause it
was so beautiful

[ Chorus ]

Sunlight, red roses
The scent of you, it
calms the heart
The sight of you, I fall apart
Moonlight, the things we notice
When we're in love,
that's when it comes
And I'm so, I'm so in love

(Repeat chorus 3x to fade)

Books:

The greatest book ever written was Louis L'Amour's The Walking Drum. Read the first chapter and hopefully you'll be moved the way I was when I first cracked this magnificent novel.

My second favorite novel was a book by the esteemed author Steven Pressfield, another historical novelist. Steven wrote the book Gates of Fire, a tale of the Spartan battle of Thermopylae.
