My Interests

Music:

I'm holding down the low end for Nate Ashley these days. I'm also playing in this project , as well. In days gone by, I played with Buellton and earlier in life with D.W.D. .Influences would be a long list, so try this on for size: The first song I learned to play on bass was Breaking the Law by Judas Priest. The first song I learned to play on guitar was Run For Your Life by the Beatles. I learned to play jazz as a teenager at Torrance Bakery with two guitarists and a sax player who just threw charts in front of me and I read them on the spot in front of an audience (school of hard knocks). I studied recording at CSU Dominguez Hills and was instructed on how to mic a drum kit by Brian Kehew . I scored a piano etude by Scriabin for orchestra. I'm a recovering Les Claypool junky and am currently studying the double bass.
