My Favorite Band has one goal and one goal only; and that is to rock you. Towards that end, every inch of My Favorite Band is constantly dedicated to the art of rock. Fromtheir technically advanced rocking style, to their finely crafted and outrageous stage presence andtheir extreme rock sexiness, the parts that make up My Favorite Band come together to form a unit thathas no other choice but to accomplish their singular goal of rock.
My Favorite Band is Chris Patti (bass/vocals), Justin Malik (rhythm guitar) and brothers Francis andPhilip Allen (Drums and Lead guitar). Chris and Justin first practiced together in 1994 and neverquit. Francis and Phil Allen, too, learned from each other ever since Phil picked up his first guitarwhen he was only 5 years old. Many years later, after much experience with many different people andbands, the members of MFB found their musical destiny. Through the years, they grew exponentially inevery area of their lives. Singer and bassist Chris Patti obtained a degree in Communication from LongBeach State and is currently getting a Masters degree. He is also a Teaching Associate in theCommunication Department. Justin has a B.S. in Business Administration, emphasizing inEntrepreneurship and Management. Phil is currently at USC, majoring in Music Industry. They see theirhigher education and experience as a steppingstone toward their ultimate goal of rock rather than agoal of an hourly wage, and what better degrees than Communication, Entrepreneurship and Management,and Music Industry to support their musical careers?
Francis works full time with Best Buy, who created a Battle of the Bands among Best Buy employees thatthe band will remember forever. The Best Buy/Sony Battle of the Bands in the fall of 2005 includedbands from Territory 2, which includes most of California (from Fresno to San Diego), Nevada, Arizona,and Hawaii. In a series of battles, including shows at the House of Blues in Hollywood and the famousRoosevelt Hotel, My Favorite Band was victorious for this entire territory, winning a Les Paul guitar,$750 in Best Buy gift certificates, and studio time for an E.P. that will be released in Best Buystores in the west coast territory. It is an event they will never forget.
Since the bands inception, My Favorite Band has showcased a hard rocking, progressive style completewith blazing solos and energetic onstage antics. The band has played packed shows at popular clubs inCalifornia such as The Roxy, The House of Blues, Chain Reaction, and the Coach House, and also oncampuses such as Long Beach State, UCI, and Sonoma State. MFB's style now encompasses a wide spectrumof music including the dirtiest rock, greasiest funk, shiniest pop, and a pinch of that yet to come.Their desire as a cohesive rock unit is to be picked up by a major label that will allow the band tosow their musical seeds in the fertile grounds of the hearts and souls of rock & roll enthusiastsworldwide.
