Siva Black is an industrial rock project and the alter-ego of its creator, founded in 2007 by Luis Blanco as its main producer, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, being the only official member.
The name "Siva" or "shiva" came from the third deity of the Hindu triad of great gods, Siva is often referred to as the Destroyer, and will appear as a naked ascetic accompanied by demons, encircled with serpents and necklaces of skulls. Sometimes Shiva wanders into crematoriums, smears his body with ash and dances in the light of the funeral pyres, but it might be better to think of him as the God of Transformation, since he is often associated with creation that comes out of destruction, an essential force also described in the kabbalah teachings.
And "Black" comes from the opposite of Luis Blanco..s last name (in english means "white"), both names represent the dark half in every human being that everyones denied and tried to hide from the others, but necessary for the internal growth and development of the personality. The experience of this "darkness" lay the foundations of a new conscience where we reconize the "darkness" as a part of the natural balance of the existence of the light. Without balance could be an oppressive force that overwhelming and comsume the mind and the body. "without shadows there's no light" and finally, both are relative and theres no difference between one and another.
For several years, Siva Black was only an idea in the mind of his creator, due the industrial rock/electro music has poorly accepted in Venezuelan underground culture, he was unable to find a band that could articulate his songs as he wanted. Instead, he decided to record all his music by himself, using electronic instruments mostly and assemble a live band to perform with him. its sound feed in diverse influences, from Bands as Tool, Depeche mode, White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails and videogames as Doom or Silent Hill. All the material was recorded by his own means, in his own house, with an exception: the vocals was recorded in the locution cabin of a well-known tv channel.
