Cat Love Spice Magic Energy

About Me

Based in Boston and the Portsmouth NH area (spending last year in Austin, TX), Sassure has been pushing a world/pop/rap/rock/tropical/Latin/acoustic synthesis in his last two CDs: ARCHIPELAGOS and STAGE ONE SOUTH. "You could say my subject is 'shamanic' love," he says, "but that would take a bit of explanation. The next project, THE CINNAMON WORLD VIEW, will further universalize Latin and tropical rhythms until basically a whole new genre is created.....which is a break from the blues-based contemporary pop/rock that has dominated the popular music scene since the 1950s.....let's call this new genre Shamanic Rock....

An admirer of English/American music (Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Genesis, Dylan, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Paul Simon), Spanish music (Miguel Bose, Complices, J. M. Serrat); Italian music (Riccardo Cocciante, Claudio Baglioni, Lucio Dalla, Umberto Tozzi), and Latin American music (Cafe Tacuba, Juan Luis Guerra, Fito Paez, Mana, Charly Garcia, Enanitos Verdes, Bacilos, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Pedro Aznar), he can be found in Los Angeles (Newport Beach), Boston, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Austin, or Portsmouth NH working on what he calls "experiments".

Sassure's music can be found on Soundclick, Indie911, Isound, Last.fm, Musicforte, Pitt Radio, and on all of those digital download services like iTunes, Rhapsody, BuyMusic, MP3tunes, MusicMatch, Puretracks, MusicNow, and Napster....64 in all. His CDs are on cdbaby at http://www.cdbaby.com/sassure6 or 5 or 4 or 3 or 2......

Sassure reveals little of himself biographically. "I'm a traveler, a seeker, a writer, a musician," he says. "Does anything else matter?"

Where the Love Is.....

I've been enjoying two great songs that have true Love power in them......they are songs that come straight from the heart and have a rhythm that moves me as no pop or rock stuff on the radio does.......

The Volcano

I’ve been asked why volcanoes appear so often in the lyrics of my songs. You might think it’s because volcanoes and islands sort of go together.....or you might think that a volcano is a g...
