I firmly believe--it's not what you "DO" for a living....it's what you do WHILE you're living!!!!Let's see...I'm 37--I have 2 BEAUTIFUL children and LOVE my life! I have a simple philosophy on life...I treat others the way I would like for them to treat my children. 100% faith in the laws of Karma. 100% allergic to drama. 100% certain that 95% of the people that will agree to that very statement are usually the first one slinging macaroni if given .05% of a chance...but such is life, we share this big world w/ some scary folks--but as I have said under Many~Many circumstances, "take the good with you and leave the bad behind". From Madea we can learn a valuable metaphor about life and the people that we find ourselves surrounded by. Seems to be easier to adopt that simple philosphy to help keep things in perspective. Think of the people in your life as you would a tree--everybody can fit into 3 main catagories. #1--most people you encounter will fall under a 'leaf' catagory. They are there for a season, to give occasional shade and color but they are too weak to weather the next season, they fall off -- fade away with the passing season. Not their fault, that's their purpose; to offer occassional shade and to take from the tree, but then move on in due time. The challenge here is to NOT confuse seasonal people with lifetime expectations #2--There are others that can be classified as branches-these are the ones that will be around for a long period of time, to protect the center of the tree, help weather the storms and uphold the beautiful shape it's respected and admired for...but be VERY careful, branches are tricky, they will let you climb out on them and give way, breaking under pressure and dropping you on your azz! #3--Then there are the roots. Notice a tree can have a thousand branches and 100,000,000 leaves but only needs 3 or 4 GOOD roots to hold that tree strong and sturdy for more than a lifetime to come? Roots are the heart and soul of that tree that allows it not only to live--but thrive where it stands...tall and proud! Roots aren't worried about who is watching and how much glory can be obtained by standing by the tree, they are there for the benefit of that tree w/o judgement, w/o drama, w/o resentment...and will accept the replenishing nourishment that tree offers in return. Same scenerio w/ us; all you need is a a few good friends in your life--roots--you will be just fine!I have resolved myself in the fact that we are all here for the same reason...we all just want to be loved. The question is, at what price are you will to pay to obtain that love -- especially once you find yourself down those rocky, rugged, dark and lonely paths looking for it to find yourself standing in front of a mirror. I honestly believe THAT in itself is more than half the journey. Complete~Utter~Self~Acceptance is the key to happiness. How can anyone else love and respect you if you can't accept who YOU really are...and how many of us accept that challenge and opportunity to challenge what they see in that mirror? ~~~ That's where I've found myself, I will let you know how it turns out ~~~
