My main interests are music, the old Universal Monster films and hoping for people to get hit by the ghost train. That's a train that hits people I hate when they least expect it. They could be sitting on the toilet or at Sunday morning mass when BAM!!!...smoked by the ghost train. Ghost trains don't need tracks bitch!
Girls who are easily impressed, preferably by long hair and mediocre musicianship. I know, I'm screwed.
I used to listen exclusively to metal, but ever since the day I heard Arcturus' "La Masquerade Infernale", my musical tastes have taken some bizarre turns. Anathema, My Dying Bride, The Haunted, Emperor, Cemetary, Porcupine Tree, Coil, Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrman, In The Woods..., Borknagar, Agalloch, KISS, Antimatter, Wolverine, Queensryche, King Diamond, Ulver (both new and old), Manes...things of that ilk. I also imagine it's worth noting that I think the run of Alice Cooper group albums from "Love it to Death" through "Billion Dollar Babies" are the finest examples of true rock music and attitude ever caught on tape (thought that's not to say I don't enjoy the other ACG albums or Alice's solo work...just that I find the four albums I've singled out to be works of staggering brilliance).
Halloween is my favorite film ever made, but I have an almost unhealthy obsession with the Univeral Monster films. Thought I generally prefer things to be dark, I'm am interested in all forms of brilliance captured on film. If you want to know more...well, you probably don't. But if you did, feel free to ask me what I think of something (one time I accidently watched the newer remake of "House of Wax"...my brain still hasn't forgiven me and has henceforth been making me dumber by the day. That'll teach me to watch crap). However, I do have a bizarre affinity for all filmed iterations of the Batman franchise (except of course, for those horrible Schumacher films...I'd rather watch the old serials).
The US version of "The Office" has become appointment television, as has "The Wire". I also love "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report". As for the ever popular Adult Swim, I find "The Venture Bros." to be fantastically scripted and "Squidbillies" has never once failed to make me laugh out loud (I still say that the episode where Early wears his donkey erection hat is my favorite 11 minutes of television ever).
Lately most of my reading seems to center on biographies of horror movie stars and directors, though I enjoy books of all forms. Some particular favorites include: "Cat's Cradle", "His Dark Materials", "Frankenstein", "Watchmen", "Batman: The Long Halloween", "Batman: Dark Victory", "The Hellbound Heart", "The World According to Garp" and pretty much anything withing reaching distance.
Galactus. He eats worlds.
