About Me

Create your own friendquiz here
Once upon a time I was a theatre major at Eastern Washington University. I have since departed from Cheney, spent a year on a potato farm in Alaska, and am now working and living in Tacoma, Washington.
Still working on my writing and my theatre. I'll let you now if anything new comes up.
Who I am can basically be summed up in what I believe:
I believe that, just as you can go infinitely outward, you can also go infinitely inward.
I believe that right and wrong are subjective, and wholly dependant on circumstances and motive.
I believe children know more than anybody gives them credit for.
I believe you can perform a completely altruistic act.
I believe that most sports are incredibly boring, unless you're playing them.
I believe that "love at first sight" is a ridiculous and childish concept.
I believe that fate was a notion invented by those who wanted no accountability for their actions.
I believe that humankind cannot destroy the world, merely ourselves.
I believe no one is wholly good, or wholly evil.
I believe no religion has it completely right, but most have at least some aspect correct.
I believe almost everything depends on your point of view.
I believe there are always exceptions.
I believe that some things are unknowable, and maybe that's a good thing.
I believe that, though some things are unknowable, the quest for knowledge and the unknowable is important and good and necessary.
I believe that science is simply another religion.
I believe you are what you choose to be.
I believe you are responsible for your own actions.
I believe that while there is always an explanation, there is only occasionally a good excuse.
I believe that professional athletes are paid too much.
I believe movie tickets cost way more than they should.
I believe that a group of people seperated from the rest of society will simply create a new society, with it's own individual rules of behavior.
I believe there is always a choice, it's just that the choices aren't always ones you like.
I believe that, even if people aren't inherently good, it's better to assume they are.
I believe that men and women are equal in design, if not in eachother's eyes.
I believe that you can be an optimist without being naive.
I believe being a pessimist is a win-win situation. Either you're right about something, or you're wrong and something good has happened.
I believe a fundamental truth is still a fundamental truth; it doesn't matter who's saying it.
I believe love is a power greater than hate, because love brings people together but hate drives them apart and there is always strength in numbers.
I believe that, while the road may be a hard one, ultimately the good guys win.
I believe that, like it or not, there's a little optimist in everyone. If there weren't, nobody would get up in the morning.
I believe that everybody needs to rant every once in a while.
I believe that pornography is not necessarily evil.
I believe that child molesters should be castrated.
I believe that everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
I believe that freedom of speech is one of the most important rights and that it should be afforded to every living being.
I believe that censorship is wrong and if you don't want to see something, don't watch.
I believe parents need to take more responsibility and be actively involved in their child's life.
I believe you should never dumb down your speech when talking to a child. How else will they learn?
I believe that public schools are underfunded and teachers are underpaid.
I believe there should be a greater focus on the arts.
I believe that modern medicine has nearly halted human evolution.
I believe that maturity is simply knowing when to be immature.
I believe that I have rambled on for long enough.

Wow. Topical.

So, the creator of the comic at XKCD.com has frequently tapped into my brain.  This has never been more true than with his most recent comic, as I'm currently re-reading Ender's Game (again).&nbs...

How could a chocolate doughnut taste like black licorice?

I wish this were some kind of riddle, but, in actuality, it's merely a rhetorical statement of my dissatisfaction in this doughnut. Because black licorice is intensely gross. I haven't posted in some ...
