Anyways,Im an ex San Fer pee wee loco, who listened to p funk and oldies, who almost lost his life because of gang banging and alcohol when he was 13, and who knew that something was instinctly wrong in this world and turned to punk(it sounds unlikely i know) as another means to rebel against the system. Subsequently I became enlightened by the message in the music which i ended up finding in hip hop(meaningful hip hop that is) as well. My first band was an anarchist peace punk band known as Iconoclast aka The iconoclast. I played bass. We lasted from 81 to 85 with various members. We were the first peace punk band of its kind in LA. We were influenced by Discharge, Crass bands, and minor threat. Recently, i ran into a punk with our button on. That was a trip. Anyways, After that band in 86 i joined danza Mexika aka Azteka because i became aware of my indigenous identity through a combination of this band called the Southern Death Cult, a vision while recreationally ingesting hallucinogens where the trees and plants spoke to me(i know you think im crazy but im not, thats actually the reason for that kind of medicine to communicate with the universe), and my father believe it or not. And of course danza was the stepping stone for me to get here as well. Thats another story but.. I was in danza and was simutaneously in a post punk, industrial, performance art, multi media, situationist anarchist band known as the wankers from 86 to 88. I played bass and vocals.
1988 is known as a classic year in hip hop because of groups such as bdp, PE, epmd, and NWA to name an influential few. That was the year that Aztlan Underground was born conceptually but was realized in 1990(the year i graduated from colonizer university) and has continued to the present in its various forms. Music saved my life in personal, political, and spiritual ways.
This is why i want to do this to the end because music is a medicine for all to ingest. Love expanding consciousness, resisting, questioning reality and the paradigm we are all confined to. Lets Reclaim mother earth from the powers that be, break down all borders, imperialism, white supremacist legacies, and realize that we are all god!! We are all creation! Reclaim all native lands worldwide. Zapatista rebel till i die!
