Being raised in Carolina helped Chyno adjust to the environments of the Bronx, New York where he eventually moved to in 1995 because of the drugs and ongoing crime in the streets of Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, the move didn't help Chyno stay out of trouble. By the end of 1995 and because of his addiction to heroin, Chyno was incarcerated. This wake up call eventually led to Chyno's decision to abandon drugs and dedicate his life to what he loved the most - music. After his release from prison, Chyno started to travel more to Puerto Rico. Unbeknownst to him, a verse that he had laid down for a friend, Rex J, was going to be paired up with a verse by another up and coming artist named “Tego Calderon”. The track was never released but this would be the first time Chyno would work with Tego. In the summer of 2002, Chyno started working on his debut album. After completing half the album, Chyno decided to instead produce a mixtape(Mongolache es calle pal que no sabe) which he then sent to Puerto Rico. In a few weeks all of Puerto Rico was buzzing about CHYNO NYNO! Soon after, the mixtape landed in the hands of Tego. With the help of DJ Adam and Rex J, a formal introduction was made. Tego fell in love with the smooth, menacing flow that he heard on the mixtape and after much discussion and negotiation, Tego decided that Chyno was someone that he wanted on his team.
In February 2005, Chyno Nyno inked a deal with Jiggiri Records/Atlantic through Intelligent Music, Inc. By performing with Tego all over the East Coast and in Puerto Rico as well as contributing to various mixtapes, Chyno has started to create major anticipation for his debut album. Chyno is featured on Tego's album “The Underdog / El Subestimado&rdquo,El Abayarde contrataca,Echo presenta Invasion,Gargolas next generation,La Sista majestad negroide and his debut album"Tortura China"is scheduled to be released in 2008. CHYNO NYNO IS ABOUT TO BE THE NEXT BIG THING!!br
