Dirty Dan (U can call me Melanie)

I didn't know James Lipton was so GANGSTA!

About Me

Hey everyone, I am Melanie. Deranged, reclusive, reserved, and angsty. I have very deep emotional anger, but generally try to be a happy person on the outside. I'm also incredibly LAZY, though a perfectionist when it comes to doing something I'm very passionate about. I live in good ol' hot hot hot Fresno, Cali-for-Ni-YAY! Uhhh, I can't seem to muster up the energy to take anything seriously. I really enjoy filming and editing silly random parody/tribute videos for my favorite people and things, which... you are more than welcome to find and watch here on my YouTube account . I have a lot of tv show clips up on there as well, so if you'd like to just go directly to view stuff I've actually MADE, go HERE . Or if you'd like to just watch my VLOGS and such, I have those in a separate playlist, too.
I love Photoshopping and working with pictures and graphics as much as I can to further express my loves and interests. Anything seen on my page is most likely made by me. Yes. Even those god-awful, sometimes highly offensive, altered internet pop-up ads...*ahem*. SORRY, if it seems WEIRD, but these are my hobbies. I am a very fanatical person when it comes to things I love. I adore creating and working on the computer and making people laugh.
I'm always open to meeting new people, though, if you're some gangsta wannabe hugger-mugger, and you try messaging me wanting to...chat or something... forget about it. Don't waste your time putting in a random friend request for me because I check ALL profiles and if I can't seem to find any way that we would share something in common, you are going to be denied. Especially all you hip hoppin' lame douches out there. I don't associate with the likes of YOU. Plus, we all know Nathan Lane is THE only genuine gangsta, so don't even try. Ok Gary Beach too. He sure loves his grillz. Best thing to do is send me a message so that I know you actually have an INTEREST in being my friend.
**PLEASE STOP STEALING/USING MY CREATED PICTURES/ANIMATIONS WITHOUT:
#1 GETTING PERMISSION FROM ME FIRST
#2 DIRECTLY GIVING ME CREDIT AND A LINK BACK.
OKAY?? THANKS.

My Interests

My tastes are quite different from most people my age, and I despise most new things. My kind usually tends to fall under the LOSER category, but whatever. I enjoy being unique and able to not just follow others. And I really couldn't care less if it's thought of as "uncool". I am stuck in the past I never got to live through. I like what I like and I know what I like and I love to like what I like, so.... deal with it, or just leave me alone.

In my spare time, I can usually be found on the computer. In fact, I basically live here. I love making silly random video parodies and tributes, as well as vlogging, working with audio, drawing (haha yep), messing with Photoshop, altering pop-up ads... I also enjoy occasional, innocent gambling...(right), swimming (Yeah. When my ears aren't EXPLODING.), playing my French Horn (I haven't practiced FOREVER, though.), watching GOOD movies... (like the older ones), and seeing live theatre. Yay!! The Producers=BEST NEO NAZI MUSICAL COMEDY FUN EVER. OMGWHAT.

I'd like to meet:

Nathan Lane, Gary Beach...AGAIN!, Roger Bart, Jerry Lewis, The cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway! Conan O'Brien! "The guy who invented latte!" Omg! Oh! And Charlie Chaplin!!--What??--He's dead???..NO I didn't get the memo!! Well fine then... Anthony Newley!...--WHAT?? Oh no don't tell me... *cries* How does this stuff HAPPEN??

Music:

Like with everything else, I’m very picky when it comes to my music tastes. I tend to lean towards the musicals, showtunes, and older or older sounding stuff. It’s almost guaranteed that if there’s some new band out there, I have no clue who they are, and I really couldn’t care less. My favorite musical of all time is The Producers. Anything Mel Brooks does that’s related to music is wonderful. My favorite performers of all time are Nathan Lane and Gary Beach. They are both truly amazing musical geniuses. I also love the rest of my Producers boys!!: Roger Bart, and Matthew Broderick!

I've just recently gotten into the magical song stylings of Anthony Newley. An acquired taste, but for those who can take the time to appreciate him... entertainment awaits. What talent he did hold. He could belt it. And also a brilliant songwriter! If you can't love him for that voice, love him for those songs! Look him up.

Jerry Lewis is also a favorite of mine, and has been for many years. He was also a sort of comedic savior for me during some horrible times. I love all of his funny novelty songs, as well as when he’s just singin’ it straight. Other favorite singers/bands of mine would have to be: The Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, & Sammy Davis Jr.) Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Bobby Darin, Harry Connick Jr., Danny Kaye, Mel Torme, Weird Al, Linda Eder, Barry Manilow, Al Jolson, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, The Beatles, Styx, Keane, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and lots more.

I love swing, big band, some classic rock, oldies, classical, the occasional opera, movie soundtracks, Disney movie music, Disneyland park music, and scores by Charlie Chaplin (his song, ‘Smile’, is one of my favorite songs.) I love beautiful, sweeping music. You know, like, what music is supposed to sound like...? Not crap?

-What I DON’T usually listen to:

Pop, rap, hip hop, hard rock, metal, thrash, techno, smooth jazz, country, whiney voice singers, screamo, punk, repetitive trash, most anything contemporary, annoying musicals and showtunes, lame unoriginal teeny-boppin’ barf music.

**Now, I’m not saying I rule out all of these genres completely 100% from my repertoire, because there IS the rare occasion, ...VERY rare, when something will adhere to my liking, but it has to have a certain thing about it.

Movies:

I'm actually not THAT big of a movie watcher. I choose to stay away from most any new or recent movies because I'm sick of wasting my time on them and then just getting disappointed. It takes a lot for me to actually enjoy and get into a film. There are exceptions, like, if a favorite actor of mine is in it, I'll usually watch it no matter what. With the few exceptions, I tend to lean towards the older, more classic movies and actors. The Producers (2005) is definitely one of my favorite films/musicals. I know it wasn't favored by many, but it was a life changer for me, so I feel I owe it my attention. Some of my other favorite movies with Nathan Lane include: The Birdcage, all The Lion Kings, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and The Boys Next Door.
Jerry Lewis is also another actor/comedian whom I love and admire. Some of his best movies, IMO, are: The Nutty Professor, Cinderfella, and The Bellboy, just to name a few. And any Dean & Jerry movie is fine in my book.
Other likes of mine: Okay, anything involving James Cagney. I. Love. Him. Simply hysterical. Even when he's not trying to be. Anything Mel Brooks, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Some Like It Hot, Little Shop of Horrors, 1776, The Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, Guys and Dolls (most musicals in general) Any of the older CLASSIC Disney cartoon movies--Before they started getting really annoying. The Disney & Pixar movies (Toy Story will always be my favorite). Star Wars (The ORIGINALS, please.) The Godfather trilogy, Jaws, Woody Allen films, Alfred Hitchcock films, Billy Wilder films, anything with an old-time, classic, feel to it, Charlie Chaplin--also a big hero of mine--His movies and his shorts, as well as other classic silent films! You know... the GOOD stuff! Ooo! And omg, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?! *squee*
-What I'm NOT usually into watching:
Plotless, "cool" special effect filled junk, simple-minded, crude humored comedies, cliche romantic comedies, "chick flicks", too-dark-and-close-shaky-camera dramas, movies with kids in them, movies where they make it so that real animals talk via special effect mouth movements, gorror/slash/whatever, contemporary "holiday" movies, stupidly annoying and unbelievable scenario filled crap, groin injuries, fat suits, "I hate my in-laws!", "Why won't anyone believe me?!", lame loser turned popular stud/babe, annoying "I can take care of myself" leading chick heroin, so-lame-it's-embarrassing one-liners, animated flix with that too-many-celebrity-voices-wannabe-hip style to them.
^^ Yeah. I don't go for that. ^^
vv I'll go for THIS, though, lol! WTF?! vv

Television:

Like so many other things, it's turning annoying too) Mad TV, Omg CONAN O'BRIEN, Curb Your Enthusiasm, SOME stand up comedy, "Good Eats" w/ Alton Brown, The Office, Jeopardy, What Not to Wear, The Simpsons, The Broadway music channel! Mystery Science Theater 3000! Full House repeats... *cough*..Fairie Tale Theater!! hahahaa... Oh! And The Colgate Comedy Hour,... which,... I'm sure most of you are.. MUCH too young to remember...
