We're a nice and generous band...
Yeah, right. *sticks finger down throat*
You could add naive and potentially desperate to the list too, but to prove that we really are nice and generous (kalau boleh taknak la naive and potentially desperate sangat kot?), all our songs are fully
DOWNLOADABLE. For
no charge at all.
It's simple. Tak payah add the band kat MSN dah. Just:-
1) Get to our myspace page
2) Scroll down to the discography section.
3) Right click on any song you want and
'Save Target As'.
Some of you have pointed out that Myspace's player wasn't working. Well, while Tom works on rectifying that, you guys can listen to our songs on the player below. Might be a bit odd-looking and slow, but just press play and let it load...it works fine.
I made this music player at MyFlashFetish .com.
What people have said about The Fridays:-
"Gila lebat...macam bagus jer..." -
Our friends
"...lu sek2 emola brader.boleh masuk geng2 The fridays la.hahahahaha....fuck emo..." -
One of the little charmers at Valentine's@Havana. We find this remark very, well, amusing! I mean, us? Emo? LOL
"Ini band lima bintang!" -
Fathullah Luqman Yusuf
Perhaps in my view The Fridays display music which represents the voice of triumphed rejects, out casted, those who live in the corner of the class, those who don't give a fuck about the system...average daily heroes facing the already fabricated, plastic and materialistic world." -
Stalin Mark of UnderOneLabel Webzine
"What the fuck is this band hanging around in i-bands? They could be the next OAG..." -
Siang, Umbrella Records exec, meaning NO disrespect at all for www.i-bands.net
"One of the many promising young bands on MySpace which have really snagged my ears. An almost perfect balance of great indie melodies, with some jangle and bits of punkish barre chords for a bit of dirt. Also blessed with confident singing and songwriting (a rare quality amongst new local bands)." -
Joe Kidd, RICECOOKER
"Who the hell are these guys?" -
Half the crowd at I-bands Music Showcase 2, Tunestone Studio Klang, Aug 2006
Here are the young men...
Why
The Fridays?
The very essence of The Fridays as a name is simply an unassuming, practical name that
works.
Coming to life out of sheer boredom in the somewhat transition periods of their lives,
The Fridays, the main nucleus featuring socially impaired dork
Acap F, local pinup boy
Adib Azhari, the 'sixth Stroke'
Syn Zulkifli (soon to leave in 2006 to attend college) and 'son of Mike Joyce'
Abdul Azim, powered by bags and bags of
Chilli Cheese Corntos and a steady diet of
Yasmin Ahmad movies, started out playing the
most idiotic and absurd rock & roll to ever come from an Ampang band. A few years down the line, nothing much has changed. The band
still plays idiotic, absurd rock & roll with the addition of guitar anti-hero
Yan Jimbit on guitars and mild mannered suburban punk rocker turned avantgarde minimalist
Chey Bacteria replacing Azim (currently with pop combo Apple Juice).
Basically the music can be described as
bad-pop-music-played-by-easily-satisfied-simpletons, but
indie pop/indie rock with punk rock leanings in all the right places is obviously a better description.
Indie pop/indie rock laced with ironic optimism.
