In memory of Helen P. Fierro: 1952-2006

About Me

Hey there, time for an updated "About Me."As many of you know, and as many of you don't, my dear mother, Helen Fierro, passed away this past July. This has been the absolutely hardest time of my life, and only now am I even finding the strength to begin to deal with what it means to lose a mother. I should be grateful, I had her longer than some, a full 24 years, but in this I want to be stingy and I want more. I need more. But, as often happens, God has his plans and he usually doesn't make sure it's ok with you first. My mother was probably the most pure hearted person I think I will ever met in this lifetime. Sure, everyone says that about their mother, but hearing the stories and the memories of all those people whom she touched in her life, I think this time it actually true. I only wish, as most children do, that I appreciated her more while she was with us. It's a common sentiment for those of us who have lost a parent, especially a mother, so don't look upon me too harshly for admitting to it. I love my mother, I always did and I always will, it's just that when she's gone...you realize just how deeply. For those of us left on this side of the great divide, let's try to stop and realize just how lucky we are to still be here to greet eachother, to hug one another, and to make a difference in the lives of those we have the fortune of spending time with. Let us also be eternally thankful that one day, when it is our time to answer the call, that we will be able to re-unite with the people we miss the most. Lastly, a quick note of thanks to Veronica for going above and beyond in her tenderness and support through this entire ordeal, despite the fact that she too loved my mother and that her father passed not 10 days after my mom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I would never have made it were it not for you. . Peace and love to all of you, Jacob

My Interests

a href="http://bp-grafix.net/sitebuilder"

Music:

Jazz. But I'll stray just long enough to find other good stuff if it's out there.

Television:

Dave Brubeck said it right "TV kills the imagination"

Books:

Books I say everyone should read: Talking to Heaven, anything by Joseph Campbell, Man's Search for Meaning - Viktor Frankl, and for some amazing historical fiction check out James Clavell (start with Shogun). I'm a Palahniuk fan, but I've strayed from that ganre lately. I learned a lot of cool stuff in Stiff. I'm interested in really well written ficiton, worthwhile business books, and those that help to give a new perspective on life, the spirit and the world. If you have any you'd like to suggest, write the name of the book on the back of $100 dollar bill and send it to me. If you need the address just write me a message.
