In Memoriam: Karaoke Man

It started as a curiosity and an opportunity to try my hand at putting together a "This American Life" type radio story. Interviewing Jim (Karaoke Man) for this little project, however, opened the door to a genuine friendship. I really began looking forward to seeing him on Sunday nights and know him to be a sweet shy guy, who loved his mom, animals and karaoke. My hope for this page was that Jim would be able to take it over and maybe even develop a small cult following. I’ve been on the road and away from Burbank Bar and Grille for months now, but was informed of Jim’s passing. I’m hoping this can be a small tribute to our everyday super-hero. I’ll be finishing this story as soon as I have a moment. You’ll be missed Karaoke Man!- Justin
