THE BIO:
There's something in the air that can't be explained.
It's something electric and it moves from your ears
and radiates throughout your body. You know it's name
but you can't remember the last time you really felt
it. It's music - pure and raw and straight from the
heart. The band EverythingTaken have begun a journey
to find and embrace that sound. You remember that
sound, don't you? It's the sound your heart made when
you first found love or when you lost it; when the
weight of the world seemed to crush you under it's
demands or when you felt you were on top of it. It's
the sound of life.
In the Spring of 2003 the founding members of
EverythingTaken found themselves at a crossroads. 2
years after signing a production/development deal with
Oakland's John Lucasey of the famed Studio 880 (home
to bands like Green Day, Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth
and Chris Isaak), they were still without a vocalist.
It wasn't for lack of effort. Many of the best vocal
talents in California had found their way into the
audition room. Guitarists Kevin Sousa, Mark Brasil and
keyboardist Michael Sousa had felt they were never
going to find that perfect fit to their music. Then,
one day while scouring MP3.com for prospects they
heard the voice of Phil Wride in an audio clip for his
former band Statk. Kevin promptly sent an email asking
if Phil would be available for an audition. An
audition was held the very next day and the voice of
EverythingTaken was finally found.
After trying out a number of different drummers and
bass players, Carlos Salvador and Jason Brazil found
their way into the now complete line-up.
As is usually the case with rock music, more problems
were sure to arise, and in this case the problem was
distance. Phil finds his home and day job in Fresno
while the rest of the band call San Jose home. But
true to the roots of the band, Phil and Kevin began
writing and collaborating over the internet and the
results are nothing short of jaw-dropping. In a few
short months the boys of EverythingTaken have written
enough top-notch material to fill several albums and
production will begin on their debut album in the
beginning of March at Studio 880.
EverythingTaken are not simply a writing project and
studio darlings, the band also boasts a live show that
must be seen to be believed. Since first showcasing
their new material (a blend of new wave and heavy rock), EverythingTaken's following has
steadily been increasing and the scene has been abuzz
with anticipation of the album. Whenever the band
plays in their hometowns a packed house is guaranteed.
When all the pretense and glitter are stripped away
from music all that's left is the feeling. Whatever
the future brings for EverythingTaken, one thing is
certain, they will continue to offer music you can feel
