Hmm... rather than write another somewhat lengthy paragraph, I think I'll opt for being a bit more brief. Sports, sleep, reading, camping, traveling, and spending time with my friends. I also love hanging out with my family, playing with my dogs, and water balloon fights. DEFINITELY the water balloon fights.
People who have been dead for quite some time. Homer, for one. Other men and women who were around either during the era of Greek and Roman expansion, or those alive during the Medieval period. I would have loved to have met my grandfather. As far as the living? Well, now, that's a good question. The only people coming to mind are either criminals or celebrities, and frankly, I'd rather not corrrespond with either. I guess if I could meet anyone nowadays, I'd meet Leonard Peltier. Yes, that's who. That man has been imprisoned by the United States government for almost 30 years for the alleged murder of two FBI agents. Read his case, and you'll see why I'd like to meet him. I'll ask only this: how do you convict a man of something when all the witnesses/ experts on the prosecution's side give testimony and evidence supporting a man's innocence?
Gosh! Music is such a huge part of my life. I truly think music enhances one's ability to function within society... it increases your intelligence, improves your social functions, and gives you a release that is paramount to your health. I love classic rock, particularly Pink Floyd. Roger Waters may as well be God as far as I am concerned. I also enjoy Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits, Def Leopard, Guns n Roses, Roxy Music/ Brian Ferry, The Traveling Wilburrys, Bob Dylan, Gracie Slick, Tracy Nelson, Melanie, Joan Biaz, and a whole lot more. Following classic rock, I also like rap/ hip hop. If you asked me to name artists, I'd probably embarrass myself, but here goes:I love the Fugees, Wycleaf Jean in particular, Mystikal, Outkast (haha-- they're great for signing in public), NWA, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, and I love the Birdman-- Both of you! I can stomach country music for short periods of time, and am not down with "smooth jazz" like the crap they play on the Wave. I grew up playing the piano and violin, and also had some training on the viola and mandolin. I wish I could play the sax, but i'll wait till after college to try and learn how to play.
Back to being brief: I love The Princess Bride, ALL John Wayne films, MOST Steven Segal movies (they're just fun!), I never mind watching Wild Things, Pirates of the Carribean, Swiss Fmaily Robinson, Alice in Wonderland, Double Jeopardy, James Bond Flicks, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, and anything done by Monty Python.
Simple. Law and Order, COPS, America's Most Wanted, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Chapelle Show, and Jeopardy.
Summer of the Monkeys! It was the first book that ever made me cry! I love ancient epics (Beowulf, Gilgamesh, The Aeneid), all mythological writings, suspense novels, and yes sadly, I am guilty of having read one or two trash novels here or there. Reading is obviously something I enjoy, as I am a Literature major. I will not proceed to bore you with any more books I enjoy. The list would be endless, you would be bored, and I'd probably have one less friend each time someone viewed this page.
All compassionate human beings qualify as heroes to me.
