I, Holly Marie Combs was born in San Diego, California; at the time, my mother, Lauralei Combs (née Berckhem), was just 15 years old and my father was 17. My biological parents married, but the two split up after two years, feeling they were too young to make a marriage work. While I was learning to walk, I hit my head on a marble table, resulting in a scar over my right eyebrow. I went through many different homes with my mother, often having very little privacy, while my mom attempted to pursue an acting career. When I was seven, I and my mother moved to New York City; I was 12 when my mother married my stepfather. In New York City, I attended Beekman Hill Elementary and then The Professional Children's School of Acting. I landed many print ads and commercials. I soon grew to love acting, just like my mother had.
In 1993, I married Brian "Travis" Smith, we divorced in 1997. Later, I became engaged to Storm Lyndon, we split in 2000. Since 2001, I have lived with David W. Donoho, who worked as key grip on Charmed. We married on February 14, 2004.
We had a son Finley Arthur Donoho on 26 April 2004. On October 26, 2006.
I gave birth to my second child, a boy named Riley Edward Donoho.I'm an animal lover, and counts three horses, five dogs, three cats, four rabbits and two lovebirds among my pets.
When my first son was born, a turtle had to be given to a friend due to the salmonella risk."Career"
Although I had a number of minor roles in the late 1980s, including a brief speaking part in Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July, my major acting debut arrived in the 1992 TV drama series Picket Fences. I auditioned for the role of Kimberly while I was in New York. The casting agent told me that I wasn't right for the part because, "I didn't have a big enough heart." I retorted, "If you're looking for someone with a big heart, what the hell are you doing in New York?" I immediately got the job. Picket Fences ran for four years, winning me critical acclaim and a Young Actor's award. In 1992, I made my appearance in Simple Men, Chain of Desire, and Dr. Giggles, in which I play its protagonist, the daughter of Cliff De Young's character.I was with my friend Shannen Doherty when I saw the pilot script for Charmed on the back seat, and said I wanted to take part in the audition. When we did, I auditioned for the role of "Prue Halliwell" and Doherty for "Piper Halliwell," we ended up switching roles because they didn't "fit".
Alyssa Milano and I both became producers for Charmed in the fifth season. For the last five seasons of Charmed (debuted in 1998 and was a hit TV series, which ended in May 2006), I played the oldest of the three sisters, while ironically I was the youngest of the three actresses.....
