That in the soul which is called the mind is, before it thinks, not actually any real thing. ~Aristo

About Me

In a very disjointed, stream of consciousness style nutshell. . .I live a contemplative life. I enjoy being pampered from time to time. I love to experience exotic places and new cultures. I thrive on adventure. I am passionate. I have a short attention span, which means I start lots of things but rarely finish them. I live in Colorado and I don't like to ski or snowboard (gasp!!). I am an idealist. I stick my tongue out in 98% of pictures I take. I love Sci-Fi movies. I’ve realized that your thoughts really do determine your reality. I don't like talking on the phone. Thunderstorms and hot summer nights are two of my favorite things. I love fine dining. I have a penchant for non-completion of mundane tasks. I can hardly believe this one myself, but once upon a time I was a Marine. I am very blessed to be surrounded by some truly amazing and beautiful people who enrich my life in many ways. I am cultivating an appreciation for the simple things in life. I have no regrets, only lessons learned. Above all else, I am in love with the mystery of life and look forward to what each new day will bring!..

Learning about life through death

Recently, someone that I know committed suicide. I'll start by saying that by traditional standards, I didn't "know" Tosha all that well - we never even met in person. I knew her through Foley, but ...
