About Me

Sagittarius Orffyreus Quinn gave up a promising career in interpretive dance following an apocalyptic spiritual experience during the Culture Shock Festival in Spring 1990 in Bloomington, Indiana. Music had spoken and would not be denied. Fifteen years of woodshedding followed, after which he began looking for musicians.

Legendary guitarist Link Wrinkley had not been seen in years following his retreat into seclusion at his palatial estate. Orffyreus jumped the fence into the compound, and after evading the patrolling white tigers, gained an audience with the reclusive Link, who declared, "Yeah, why not. What the f*ck—I'm bored!"

Skeez and Link found drummer Slab Eisner beating on a dumpster behind Wal-Mart with a severed arm. His rhythm was impeccable, and after the effects of the tranquilizer dart wore off, Slab was in the band.

Production/engineering duo Silas Berne and Jebediah "Skeez" Skaggs overheard Orffyreus, Slab, and Link rehearsing down the street. Always a Svengali, Silas knew he had found the sound that would bring his career back into the limelight and end the bitterness of being cheated by Phil Spector—the hack!—out of his rightful credit for creating the Wall of Sound.

Skeez just shrugged and said, "Yeah, whatever you say, boss."

Skeez filled in on bass in the studio, and continued in that role during the subsequent tour. Multiple paternity suits soon followed, but Skeez decided he would not let his legal troubles detract from his enjoyment of the rock-n-roll lifestyle, and so he went to court wearing a gold suit. (Skeez lost big, but looked great doing it...)

Sessions yielded the Martian Water Rites EP, which was released under the Dreamtime Transit Authority moniker and received heavy rotation on stations across the country.

Funding for the sessions, radio promotion, and tour came from shadowy, cigar-chomping impresario Kenneth Roswell, known for his willingness to "protect my investment, baby—the old school way!" Several of Mr. Roswell's "associates" provided the "muscle" necessary to ensure radio play and a successful tour of North America.

Orffyreus is currently in the studio writing new songs and laying down tracks for a full-length album.
