ARE Reunitin' for one show!

About Me

Harp and Finial was first started as a home studio project by Damon Kalar in the basement of a Seattle home. A home he shared with his brother, Ethan. He created many songs, and with the help of bassist Jes Seamans and Ethan - he put of a small run of a cds under the name damon and reru.
After moving back to the twin cities, the project was put on hold to pursue other musical efforts. Once there he met local drummer, Joe Gaskill, and they helped put together and build a band named DAY KIT.
But in 2004, after the breakup of DAY KIT, Kalar and Gaskill were left with a purpose - the purpose of rock. Hence, they formed Harp and Finial. In October 2004, they began recording their first record, Earthquakes are Easy. Many of the same songs from damon and reru were used, and some new ones were added. Tracking at Sound Gallery Studios with producer, Nick Tveitbakk, Harp and Finial laid down the entire record in a few short weeks. It soon became all they hoped for - amazing.
Then, in September 2006, after two years, Harp and Finial decided to call it off. Too many other options demanding their attention. Sept. 10th was their final show.

Sounds Like: Intertwining guitars and intense harmonies lead the bursting music of Harp and Finial, a band that cleverly builds up, shatters apart and rejoins with curious ease.

Smart lyrics awaken listeners with a soothing familiarity that remains both heartfelt and energetic. As a result, Earthquakes Are Easy is an emotional indie rock rollercoaster ride: a ride without a height requirement.
