I simply adore: travel, music, cinema, working out, astrology, art, body modification, food, chocolate, kisses, sex, sharks, animals, vampires, passion, thunder, singing, dreaming, strange people, expensive bedding, nighttime, night skies and all things dark and mysterious, eccentric and macabre, romantic and chivalrous, sensual and surreal.
My Absolute.
Always fancy to kill the oddy knockies and to filly new droogies.
I love the Thorny Devil (aka Mountain Devil).
The divinely strange and unfortunately endangered Grey Loris.

Music, for me, is perhaps the easiest form of escape. I can be whom I choose, go where I please, and have whom I desire. I am enamored with and humbled by the following brilliant artists, and many more: Dead Can Dance, The Cult, The Butthole Surfers, Delerium, Conjure One, Collection d'Arnell-Andrea, Luciano Pavarotti, Thievery Corp., Vast, South, 16 HP, Interpol, The National, Calla, The Doves, Air, Starsailor, Gorillaz, Bauhaus, Peter Murphy (sigh), The Cure, The Gathering, Bel Canto, This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, Hooverphonic, Sneaker Pimps, Tricky, Massive Attack, Poe, Muse, Red Delicious, Olive, Dido, The Dining Rooms, Portishead, The Doors, Blondie, Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth, Sasha Lazard, Azam Ali, Mazzy Star, Sade, B-Tribe .... all Gothic, all Trip-Hop, all 4AD. Really, there are only two types of music - Good and Bad. I like Good music.
I love the sweet, slow, deceptive seduction of cinema. Like music, it works to evoke, inspire, conjure, transport, ignite or sometimes just to simply entertain. Some that have touched me in these ways are: Bitter Moon, Santa Sangre, The Reflecting Skin, Naked Lunch, The Forbidden Zone, The Saddest Music in the World, Leaving Las Vegas, Bram Stoker's Dracula, King Kong, Interview With the Vampire, The Hunger, Mary Reilly, Rosemary's Baby, The Machinist, The Jacket, all the works of David Lynch (especially Blue Velvet), Jaws, Bound, High Art, Dangerous Liasons, Videodrome, Dead Ringers, Dr. Caligari 1989, all the works of Quentin Tarantino (especially Jackie Brown), Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Boxing Helena, Ed Wood, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Scarlet Diva, Memento, Hannibal trio, I Shot Andy Warhol, Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, Murder by Death, the old Mel Brooks stuff, Friday and.... Revenge of the Nerds!! ... and countless others.
Sunday night HBO is the reigning champ in this category: Oz, Sex and the City, The Sopranos, Carnivale, Rome and Six Feet Under. I love to laugh to Kids in the Hall and Everybody Loves Raymond. Before it was cancelled, I lived for the fitness channel, I'm completely addicted to the Food Network and Animal Planet and have the hots for Anderson Cooper and Samurai Jack. Also, I must confess to enjoying a bunch of reality shows including: Breaking Bonaduce, Project Runway, Dr. 90210, Flavor of Love, and America's Next Top Model.
Another teleportation device. This one allows more room for individual perception. I have been bewitched by the following: Bram Stoker's Dracula (of course), Anne Rice's Vampire Trilogy (not so much by the ones that followed), her Sleeping Beauty Series under her pen, A. N. Roquelaure, Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin, Naked Lunch, by William S. Burroughs (along with some of his other works, like Junkie), Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book by Terry Jones and Brian Froud, and all the others in this series, Goblins, Good Faeries/bad Faeries, and Strange Stains and Mysterious Smells: Based on Quentin Cottington's Journal of Faery Research. Then there's: OZ : Behind These Walls: The Journal of Augustus Hill, and I really liked The Shining by Stephen King, and Call Me Crazy: A Memoir, by Anne Heche. Etc. etc... on and on and on.
1. My mother: the most capable, talented and selfless person I've ever known.
2. Fakir Musafar, whose undaunted, sacred and profane research and personal exploration of primitive body decoration and rituals has impacted and improved my life.
3. Steve Irwin, whose unsurpassed passion, respect, and enthusiasim for his animal kingdom research and endeavors, will never be forgotten.
4. Whoever replaces George W. Bush as President.
