My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The man who REALLY makes all the big decisions in the Universe, as referenced by The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, by Douglas Adams.

Music:

Classic rock, thank you. If it's not older than me, I probably am not a fan.

Books:

just for the record, I never approved of the pastafarians and have no idea how my books came to include the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti monster. As a matter of fact, i'm rather upset that it was inserted there and offended that Myspace supports the atheistic group so actively. Nope, my only religious readings ar the Bible and things about the Bible. Back off, noodle-face.

My Blog

Meditation of Steel

NOTE: This is not a Joem, and it is most assuredly not a poem. This is a meditation, a mantra made of several lines of Joe's thinking, and used to carry me through times of crisis. I don't know if you...

Wanted: Adventurers

I have decided to become an adventurer, professionally. I will complete my degree at Hamline, the better to chronicle my own heroic stories, but then I will be buckling on my sword and hitting the roa...

Freestyle Fairy Tale

Ok, a brief explanation. I was chatting with Katie, and we were bored. So she told me a story. Then I was expected to tell her one back. I said I needed a topic, she gave me one, I made this up as I w...

Everday Milestones

A year of college has come and gone. You'd think I'd have a lot to say on the topic, but I don't seem to. Time has become increasingly irrelevant in my eyes of late; I guess it seems to me that every ...

The Romance Deception

Ok, before we get into this, I need to clarify. I am not writing this as some cynical, bitter, angsty loser who is distressed because he doesn't have a girlfriend and Valentine's day is coming. I am w...

Weary

I'm a wreck. Hell if I know why, I'm just falling apart. I'm dead tired, no matter how much sleep I get. My eye started twitching earlier tonight. I just caught a muscle twitching by my mouth. My hand...

Memorial

When I die, I hope they have more to say about me. A friend of mine died in the last week or so. She was an elderly woman, she'd been sick for a while, and Alzheimer's had been wearing her down to the...

Navigating Night

Tonight, I got back to my dorm a bit late (3:25, perhaps) and found, not surprisingly, that my roommate was asleep. Jake's smarter than me, and actually gets a healthy amount of sleep. I, of course, d...

A Song for All Time

Jay was never normal. The Last Great Minstrel, as he called himself, had no money, no job, and no desire to stay in one place. No, he was a wanderer through and through. Oh yeah. And time means nothi...

Alfazar

Alfazar landed smoothly on his feet, the fall doing little to faze him. He'd trained for years to get this right; he wasn't failing the first challenge the Order could throw at him. He looked up;...
