Love, Give, Be Blessed!
I'd like to meet:
People who can understand Dance Praise.
DANCE PRAISE: There is something inside of a dancer that God wants to pull out and use for His Glory. There is no better time than this to seek out those things, uncover and share them with other dancers. So many young Christian dancers want to make a groove in ministry for themselves with dance but many church leaders either don't understand it or don't know what to do with it.
I believe there's a deep desire to do something more than a cute talent show type routine or be an angel in the christmas banquet at church. As I mentioned to Karla (Special K), if you have a singing ministry there are a whole aray of people around you to learn from, but a dancing ministry, you don't have those same numbers.
During praise and worship at churches there are annointed ministers in instrument and song who lead the congregation into connecting with the spirit of God. This is their ministry, they are a part of a team that ushers in the presence of the Lord. They have recognized a great desire inside of them that wants to lead people into the presence of God - throw in the fact they have a talent in the profession of music and voila you got yourself what we know now as a praise and worship team. If you have the desire to do more than the sway and frequent arm wave during praise and worship it's probably because your spirit man is not content with your current level of expression and this is where it all begins. There's no denying this feeling anymore!
Simply put, dance is an integral part of praise and worship and I pray everyone finds themselves experiencing moments of complete release even if it is only in your bedroom while blasting some of your fav worship music, haha. This entire concept is new to so many people so use it wisely, just like a singer on the praise team would not take to their own agenda during a song and sing something else to disrupt the spirit of unity, neither should a dancer. Pray about it, uncover your desire and I'm sure God will meet that with destiny.
It was great talking to you all.
xoxo ~ Monica

Music:
This has never been an easy question to answer. I mean, how do I sum up the fact that I was raised among teens and young adults so my house was filled with young music from the late 70's and 80's. Also blasting in the car were the oldie but goodies like the Stylistics and Temptations. On a regular basis there would be Gospel with the likes of The Winans and Bebe & Cece - then the contemporary christian stuff like John Gibson, Bryan Duncan, Russ Taft and Amy Grant. My family loves music, it's always filled our house(s). You know that neighbor that cleans their hous and must blast the music? Yup, that's us! So, what kind of music do I like? Well, here are 5 artists for example: Kim Clement (prophetic), Marcos Witt (spanish), Tony Bennet & Michael Buble (standards), and Nickelback(alternative). So I guess my answer really is, "Anything I can dance to"...I think.
Movies:
Reese in Leggally Blonde, Little Foot in The Land Before Time (not the sequel), Cordy in The Happiest Millionaire, Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride, the cucumber in Veggie-tales, hhmmm who else? Movies where the girl gets the guy, the dancer gets his big show...you know...happy endings.
Television:
Right now? HGTV baby!
Books:
"Secrets of the Prophetic" by Kim Clement.
"Blessed Child" by Ted Dekker and the books of Isaiah, Hebrews and Ephesians!
