Primarily I'm a painter (www.jasonlahr.net) but I've been playing guitar for 16 years and posess a really weird range of musical interests, everything from grindcore and death metal to ambient and country. My main musical energies are put towards the tech-grindcore band that I'm in, The Arsonist's Daughter (www.myspace.com/thearsonistsdaughter), but I'm also really interested in experimental and noise based music; specifically, the ways in which the guitar can be incorporated into the experimental sonic palette. Chalk it up to my continuing King Crimson obsession.Gear-wise, my main rig is a Parker Fly ClassicErnie Ball JR Volume PedalMesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo Head(TC Electronic G-Major in the FX loop)Mesa Boogie Rectifier Traditional 4x12 speaker enclosure. Rack controlled by a Digital Music Corporation Ground Control Pro. Boss RC-20 Loop station for loops and samples. This is the rig I use with The Arsonist's Daughter, for the solo work I run the Parker into a Boss GT-6 (a GREAT pedal even if only for the handful of weirdo synth patches) floor processor as a preamp for my rack, which then goes into an Alesis Firewire 12 mixer, giving me a light, easy to carry ambient rig that can be run direct, occasionally I'll throw a Digitech XP-300 Space Station, Johnson J-station, and/or Chuck Collins Theremaniacs Theremin into the mix, and always, for the solo performances, I lean heavily on an Ebow.Keep an eye out for tracks from past collaborations (a few tracks I played on for my friend Dave's project, Requiem), as well as upcoming solo stuff.
