I-LAND BEAT was set up in September 2003 in the island of Crete in Greece as an attempt to present and establish alternative cultural happenings in the area(and not only) by promoting STRICTLY ROOTS REGGAE MUSIC to the people.It is an ambitious musical project of a local reggae fanatic with a little help from friends.Small scale events have been taking place in our town (Rethymno) since, and from 2006 onwards we have organised larger scale events under the title"UNIVERSITY OF DUB,RETHYMNO DEPARTMNENT"The most recent project has been the construction of I-LAND BEAT SOUNDSYSTEM, in order to present the absolute reggae experience.I would like to thank King Shiloh for all guidance, inspiration help and vibes over the years.
