About Me
St Nic’s BIO-USSDGC CERTIFIED (non degradable)THE GIFTS
So you say u know a real nigga when you see one, {Problem though} you have to be a real nigga first. This is the problem that WHITE CHALK, as well as many of our colleagues gotta deal with constantly in these harsh streets of Chicago. The flipside is, St. Nic born Reginald Coleman, at 20 years old was certified in em’, in as many arenas as your average 40 year old. Safe to say, I always been like a whole lifetime ahead of my time. Simpler said, ‘’what many niggas dream about, I sit and reminisce on daily. What you work 4, I piss off on nothing. However, this makes me no greater man than u. Harder worker, more like it. Its not everyday you find a nigga from the hood with grad student certifications, and street ties like Flukey Stokes. And when you do, it’s a costume that is thrown on to adapt. Or a scripted conversation from a ‘’How To Be Accepted’’ article.
Fortunately, this isn’t the case with St Nic. Many folks would agree that money is scarce in the hood, and Nic gives all he can to whoever he can, and although these actions aren’t always reciprocal-(even in the family!!) its always better to give than receive and in time ill get mine. Music, performing, writing, and running from screaming fans, aint no different than slanging, banging & runnin from crooked ass police and federal agents.
Its all a video game played by everybody simultaneously to get to the top, and every day God wakes you up, plugs you up, and drops another coin in, you kick off with yesterdays fall-offs in mind, and is granted a fresh start.. I realized early enough in life that it isn’t designed for young black Americans to have shit…..period! as bad as it sounds, it’s the case non the less. So the rap game is so attractive to our youth, because the lifestyles that are portrayed on the screen by ‘’rappers’’ are the ultimate dream come true 4 any lil nigga from the ghetto. The success that we boast about is well due anybody that comes from nothing man, and that’s the truth. The lifestyle that St Nic grew up in, and still lives in this day aint no different than yours. Being in household with both parents I will say allowed me the opportunity to view the canvas from the upperside. I thank God everyday for that. I grew up in a house with 3 sisters, a brother who is a ordained minister today, my mother and father, and 1 income. So its safe to say that im well-balanced. Ralph Glasper, u held us all down (R.I.P) I love you to death for that-see u when I get there!
If I never make mention to one thing my father taught me, I will now ‘’ son never never worry about what u cannot control’’. Regardless of what he meant I live by that in my own way everday, I advise yall to take from it what u may, and embed your own meaning also.
THE CURSES
It wasn’t long after my father’s untimely & unexpected death in oct 2000, that the gifted, talented young St Nic, would claim a new home. ‘’The streets’’. And like a few others that have made that statement in the past, I say this, the block absorbed me like water in a sponge. I sold, re-copped, and sold again until 1 day, I realized that I had broken a past promise to my father. This was as follows; no matter how hard times get, ill shall seek other means than selling drugs for it was totally opposite to everything my family stood for. I had a tough decision to make, daddy was gone, mom had little to work with and bills were still piling up. Long story short, for awhile I was able to keep my promise and sought other means to eat. But eventually I was knee deep again, and I pray that my father in spirit & the physical both understands and forgives me 4 my actions.Several criminal trespass charges, 2 gun possession charges, a drug indictment (that I beat by the way) later. I was going extra hard on my music career.
