About Me

SOME PART OF US WILL SUCCUMB, INSIDE OF OUR OWN KINGDOM.

My Interests

Spending time with my girlfriend, playing music (guitar, piano, bass, drums), transcribing music, photography (check out some of my photography in the "Photo Gallery" blog) , cooking, NASA/space program (especially the Apollo program), trains, being lazy, and...um...well now I'm too lazy to think of more.

I'd like to meet:

No one in particular...

Playin A Little Guitar.....Mostly... (Sorry for the horrible video quality!)
Tearin My Guitar A New One

More Tearin

Me playing a little piano...(The sound may be a little quiet.)

Music from the Shining Scribes.(The band I was in before I moved to Austin.)

Music:

Music is and has always been my life. It controls me...

Rock/Alternative, Heavy Metal, Music from the 80's, Jazz and Blues/Texas Blues, Older R and B, New Age/Contemporary Piano, Classical - Beethoven is my favorite composer but when it comes to piano, nobody can touch Chopin!
I hate Rap and today's R and B and have liked a few Country songs - but not Country as a whole.

There are way too many bands to list and I like too many bands to have a favorite.

As far as guitarists go, Eddie Van Halen was God to me growing up and I'd say he still holds God-like status. I love Buckethead! Although being raised by chickens in a chicken coop has made him a little um, "unique", he is just a bad-ass guitarist period... I also love Tony Macalpine, Warren DiMartini, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Monte Montgomery blows me away and has opened me up to a whole new style of playing. Of course there are many other guitarists I really like but these have probably been the most inspiring.

On the guitar, I have always pretty much played rock and heavy metal. Guitar-wise it's what I've grown up on. I've also studied clasical guitar.

The guitar for me has always been about the energy - cranking it up real loud, kickin on the distortion and playing as fast as I can. (check out the video section). The piano is where I get all wimpy and sensitive.

I've recently completed my little home studio here in the back room. I am currently trying to master all the recording equipment and will post ideas on my Tabtrick Studios MySpace Music page.

Movies:

I don't have a favorite genre, nor do I have a favorite movie. But I do love horror flicks. The more blood and guts the better!!!

Television:

95% of what I watch is educational crap - things I have an interest in and want to learn more about. But I also enjoy sports (football, baseball and hockey). I've never much been into drama or sitcom shows but some of the shows I like are: Cheers, South Park, Family Guy, Chappelle's Show, Jackass, Boston Legal, MXC, Metal Mania (80's & 90's metal videos). This show actually serves a dual purpose - enjoyment for me and a constant source of jokes about me for Marcie. Y'know, something we can both share together. That's important in a relationship. I also watch The Sopranos, The Wire, Big Love, Deadwood and Rome to name a few. I'm sure there are more but that's what comes to mind at the moment.

Books:

I've never really been into fiction type books. There are just too many "real" things I have an interest in and want to learn more about.

Heroes:

My grandmother, for her beauty and strength.

Dr. Wernher Von Braun - designer of the Saturn V rocket and the reason we beat the Russians to the moon.
