About Me

Allan Segall’s music has been widely performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia by such distinguished artists as Marcel Worms, Annelie de Man, Kim Huigens, Hester Cnossen, John Rautenberg, Sylvia Wang, Michael Cameron, Andrew Simpson, Ivar Lunde, Tim Lane, Rudolf Haken, Duo 46, Duo; Robert Bekkers, Anne Ku, Duo Obelix, Dante Oei, The Netherlands Flute Quartet, The Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet and The New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra.
His broadcasts include a recent guest appearance on “Met het oog op morgen”, a performance by The Netherlands Flute Quartet June 2004 from Het Concertgebouw; and also a full-length television show broadcast in May 2005 from The Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus on the production and subsequent performance of his work for the guitar/violin group, Duo 46.
His commissions include Duo 46, The Cleveland Duo; Joseph Holmes Dance Theatre (his score to Love Not Me won its choreographer Best Work of the Year –1992); Ciosoni; New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra and The Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra.
Segall was born in 1959 in Brooklyn, New York, grew up in Denver, Colorado, and has most recently served as Concert Director at the Engelse Kerk in Amsterdam. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
