I am here for Friends

About Me

-----
I hate to write about myself. I am much more at home writing about ideas and thoughts. But I guess I have to write something about myself, so here I go...
I am living in Clinton, Mississippi. "Mississippi??" you may ask. Yes, Mississippi. I am in the down and dirty South! I am here going to seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary. I am going for my Masters of Divinity. Me a divine? I guess. Only God knows. I work for the John Richards Professor of Practical and Systematic Theology Dr. Derek Thomas . I have a sweet job title, the John Richards Honor Scholar of Practical and Systematic Theology. That is just a fancy way of saying I am his T.A. (teaching assistant). I love it here at RTS. I am not a huge fan of the South, but it is growing on me. However, the seminary is a great place to be. And I love working for Dr. Thomas. I get to proof read all his books, articles and essays, which is fantastic. I get to read books before they are published. This is like watching your favorite move before it is out in the theaters. I also grade and lead study groups.
Moving on...I love to read. Mainly my Bible, and books about the Bible/Christianity, i.e. theology, commentaries, biographies, and things like that. My favorite books in the Bible are John and Romans. I guess those are everyones favorites, but I enjoy them. I also benefit from the writings of(in no particular order): John Piper, John Calvin, John Owen, Robert Reymond, Scott Oliphint, Derek Thomas, Guy Waters, Miles VanPelt and many others.
I also enjoy smoking my pipe and drinking a beer or cognac while talking about the Christian faith with friends. Some of my favorite times in life are enjoying the company of others, smoking and drinking and talking about the deep things of God. Every other Monday night I attend the Dead Theologians Society (D.T.S.) where we talk about theology, philosophy and politics, while enjoying the finer thing in live. "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
I am married to the HOTTEST woman alive, THANK YOU JESUS! You can check out here page by clicking here. She is the best. Her support for me while I am in school is huge. She is always willing and ready to help me in any way she can. Whether it be, helping me study, making me food, or just telling me she supports me. I love it!
I also enjoy playing poker and listening to some good ole Rock and Roll!

You scored as Reformed Evangelical. You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You hold that the Bible teaches that God is in control of everything and sovereign over all of history. You believe that God is the one who saves man and that this salvation is an act of pure grace, on account of Christ alone. The most important thing the Church can do is glorify God and enjoy him forever.

My Interests

Theology, Pipes, books and beer

You Are Bass Ale
You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world.
Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them.
When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well.
But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around.
The fact that you are a Presbyterian means you cannot be a light beer.
Your theology is rich and full, just like your beer.
If you were a Reformed Baptist you would, by necessity, be a light beer. Since Reformed Baptists are Reformed light.
What's Your Beer Personality?
