I am here for Friends

About Me

Prone to mood swings.
Expansive sense of humor.
Respectable taste in music.
Atrocious taste in artwork.
Oversensitive and underambitious.
Voluntary non-driver.
Pro-bono housekeeper.
Tenacious lover.
Expert sleeper.
Passable conversationalist.
Amateur (but eager!) handywoman.
Sharp of tongue and cold of foot.
Quick to forgive and slow to forget.
I live on Capitol Hill and work in LoDo. I don't drive. I like my job. I'm socially retarded, a loquacious drunk. I'm impressionable. I don't follow through. I have no dreams or ambitions. I'm a shitty cook but I enjoy doing it anyway. My feet stink. I smoke too much. I'm a big fan of the ridiculous and the absurd. I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I'm quiet and easily upset by people doing, saying and believing things they never actually think about.
I'm imperfect and sometimes hypocritical but I try to remain aware and to be a better person every day. I run lukewarm and cold. If I didn't have to work for a living I would design and build furniture. I've never had a pedicure and I'm alright with that. I'm aeroacraphobic (look it up). Sometimes I judge people by the music they like, and I'm trying to stop doing that. I have a problem with sticking things in my ears and I'm losing my short term memory. I have strange, a la cart relationships with everyone in my life. I don't believe in obligation unless it's legal or financial in nature. I will never send flowers, I won't call often, and sometimes I might even forget your name. But I will always love you.
I <3 random.

My Interests

.."assembly required", nuance and shadow, colossal statuary, film villainy, resonant bass, wordless and/or sightless communication, compost, scars, gasoline, honest sweat, and you.

Proud supporter and fan:
..

I'd like to meet:

Old friends, new friends, red friends, blue friends.Oh, and this guy. There is no longer a chain, that is how ridiculously off it he is. And because I have a huge, ridiculous crush on him.

Music:

We don't have that kind of time.

Movies:

8 & 1/2 Women, Badlands, Battle Royale, The Bicycle Thief, Clash of the Titans, The Devil's Backbone, Down By Law, Four Rooms, Harold and Maude, Immortal Beloved, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, The Madness of King George, Mutant Aliens, A Passion in the Desert, Real Genius, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Talk To Her

I like stupid 80s comedies, zombie films, anything to do with religion, the apocalypse, or natural disasters. I like spanish films.

Television:

I have managed, once again, to slip the bonds of that infernal invention. I have a nice TV, but I only turn it on to watch movies. I get left out of lots of conversations now because I have no idea who won Blanking with the Stars or who's the new American Deity or whatever. Can't say I mind much. I wish I could say that in place of television, I read or write poetry, but I don't. I just watch a lot of movies and dick around on the internet.

Books:

Isaac Asimov, Clive Barker, Charles Bukowski, Andrei Codrescu, Douglas Coupland, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Hermann Hesse, TS Eliot, Neil Gaiman, Sylvia Plath, Tom Robbins, Henry Rollins, Kurt Vonnegut.

My Blog

I can’t hold it inside any longer.

Because I have reached my self-imposed maximum post limit on the other blog...

Can someone please explain to me why I hate Catherine Keener so much? Or why (appropos of nothing) every man I know seems to like her? She's like a walking Woody Allen movie, all over-earnest and...

My problem with Christianity, and Western religion in general.

I do not have a problem with what the christian faith claims are its tenets. What I have a problem with is how those tenets are used. I have a problem with a message of love and hope being twisted and...

I am (still) officially old.

I look at my nephew’s friends and I want to slap them all, at the same time, with one giant hand. I don’t even know them, but they just have those looks on their little pubescent faces. I ...
