AMJ Productions was founded by Orin "Octane" Wilson and Jason "Jenius" Stanley in early 2007. The two musical talents first met back in 2000 when Jason heard Orin's first track and was amazed at the young producer's raw talent. He encouraged him to take his craft more seriously, and soon after the first company, Ricochet Productions, was formed in Miami. They specialized in darker soca grooves with heavy reggae influence that were sometimes too new and different for its time. During that period Octane and Jenius had the opportunity to work with such artists as 3 Suns, Trini Jacobs, Roger George, Mistah Shak, Giselle D Wassi One, Quweina Roberts, and Big Drew just to name a few. He and Jenius also managed to secure a weekly spot on Miami's number one underground soca station, Flava 101.1 FM. Their show, "The Danja Zone", quickly gained popularity amongst listeners , because of Octane and Jenius' inventive mixing skills and their incredible command of the microphone. The show's tenure was short lived though. Octane experienced a terrible loss in his family and almost gave up his entire music career.
A few years later, in 2004, Octane moved to Atlanta where he gradually got back into his craft. This time he ventured into the Reggae and Hip Hop world where he discovered some new and almost unexpected talents. He began working with many underground down south hip hop artists, entered into competitive Atlanta Hip Hop Beat Battles, and submitted songs to Atlanta's urban radio station for listener feedback.
Though there was little opportunity for his reggae music to flourish in Atlanta, Octane still practised the genre, and this would not be in vain. In early 2007, his old freind Jason "Jenius" Stanley called him from Miami and told him that there would soon be an opportunity for them to work with one of Trinidad's most prolific new reggae stars, Prophet Benjamin. Jenius too had been honing his production skills and was ready for an artist to ride his riddims. At this point, the two officially joined forces and formed AMJ Productions, now specializing in reggae, soca, hip hop, and even R&B!! Octane's dark and eerie sound combined with Jenius' feel good melodies have created an unbelievable chemistry. Currently they are busy working tracks for Prophet Benjamin and Quweina Roberts, the daughter of the late great "Lord Kitchener".
