My Interests

Fine food, fine wine and travelling round the country to see great bands in concert. Have car, will travel. Let's face it - have passport, will travel too these days. The furthest I've gone for a gig so far is New York to see Daryl Hall at BB King's on Times Square. Can I top that one day, I wonder....?

I'd like to meet:

There's really only one person on my 'would like to meet' list and that's Jimmy Page. A girl can live in hope, can't she...? LOL! I just want to shake the hand of the man whose music has meant more to me over the past 30 years than anybody else's. Actually, I'd really like to hug him but I guess I'd settle for a handshake. LOL!

Ah, what a killer smile he has...

Music:

I'm a rock chick first and foremost and my absolute favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin. Nobody else even comes close for me. After that (in no particular order and a real mixed bag) Thunder, Tyketto/Vaughn, Winterville, Little Angels/Toby Jepson, Great White, Whitesnake, Jeff Scott Soto, Roadstar, Richie Sambora, Hall & Oates, The Urbane, Billy Joel, Don Mescall, Frank Sinatra and, of course, the wonderful...

And this video by Duke Special is a current favourite of mine...

And here's the fab Fran King...

Happy International Women's Day!

Just a quickie (oo er, missus) before I head off to work for the evening. We don't make enough of this day here in the UK, I feel. When I was in the former Soviet Union as a student many, many moons a...

Will I never learn...?

You almost got a lengthy blog about my Speed Awareness Course in Lancs yesterday. However, I pressed the wrong button when previewing it and it has now disappeared down a black hole. Consider yourselv...

Not my day (procrastination strikes again)

I really needed to nip into work today for an hour or two to type up my annual report without any distractions and email it to my line manager. I put it off for most of the day, you know how it is..."...

A pox on thee!

Inspired by a comment on my MySpace board about Shakespeare which resulted in my returning a pithy insult courtesy of the Bard, do you have a favourite insult (which is clean enough to print here?) ?...

Procrastination - talent or vice?

As I sit here putting off for the umpteenth time the various bits of housework I swore would be accomplished today, I have decided that if there was a Guinness World Record for Procrastination, nobody...

If you ever go across the sea to Ireland....

...Then maybe at the closing of your day You will sit and watch the moon rise over Claddagh And see the sun go down on Galway Bay. Well, that's what I did on Tuesday. Instead of resting after the e...

The Famous Five Go Dutch

No, nothing to do with Enid Blyton, or even Thunder. The Five I am referring to are my good (or not so good, as it turned out ) self, Ceri, Smurf, Jack Daniels and Mr Jagermeister. The day started ou...
