A Work in Progress

About Me

“If you limit your choices to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.” -- Robert Fritz"Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo." -H. G. Wells

Your Life Path Number is 9
Your purpose in life is to make the world better
You are very socially conscious and a total idealist.
You think there are many things wrong with the world, and you want to fix them.
You have a big idea of how to world could be, and you'll sacrifice almost anything to work towards this dream.
In love, you can easily see the beauty in someone else. And you never cling too tightly.
You are capable of great love, but it's hard for you to focus your love on one person or relationship.
You have a lot of outward focus, and you tend to blame the world for your failures.
You are often disappointed by the realities of life - it's hard for you to accept the shortcomings of the world. What Is Your Life Path Number?

My Interests

I'm a first degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do!! I am very excited about this as it has been a long comittment of training and studying. It is an honor that I share with my three sons. I like to drink Single Malt Scotch (Caol Ila, The Dalmore, Talisker), Frozen Margaritas (TOP SHELF tequila only please!), and Three Buck Chuck from Trader Joe's or any good Pinot Grigio wine. Beer only has to be cold - I'll drink PBR to Heinekin. Don't like the artsy-fartsy microbrews and fancy "apple-hickory grass seed" beers. I fell in love with Guiness on tap in Dublin. There's nothing else like it.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet fun and cool people who share common interests and have a good time. Let's just chat and have fun.

Music:

Def Leppard, first and foremost. But I'll listen to just about anything. I've got Duran Duran, Cierra, Kid Rock, Jamie Cullum, Dan Reed Network, Juno Falls, Evanescence, Usher, Oasis, Nine Inch Nails, Dave Matthews, Christina Aguilara, Crowded House, Disturbed, Lindsay Lohan, Train, Ramstein, Staind, Vertical Horizon, Velvet Revolver, Prince, Sting, American Hi-Fi, Modest Mouse, Jason Mraz, Lifehouse, Maroon 5, Trapt, The Offspring, Gwen Stefani, The Eagles, A-ha, Andrew Strong, 10cc, Edwin McCain, Backstreet Boys, Goo Goo Dolls, Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music, Marillion, Drowning Pool, Audio Slave, The Killers, Beyonce, Jimmy Eat World, Guns N Roses, The Cure, Nelly, Puddle of Mudd, Kelly Clarkson, Creed, Wil Smith, Nickelback, Squeeze, U2, Queen, Bryan Adams, Simon & Garfunkel all loaded on the iPod, blaring in the car.

Movies:

Love comedian DVD's!!! Chris Rock Bigger & Blacker, Bruce Bruce, Eddie Izzard ("Do you have a flag?") Dressed to Kill, Ron White (okay CD's) , Dane Cook, George Carlin - Brilliant!, Monty Python-Benny Hill-Black Adder-Young Ones My latest movie obsession is Brokeback Mountain. I LOVE IT!!! Bachelor Party, A Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Vacation, James Bond movies, Star Wars movies, Matrix movies, Terminator movies, Steel Magnolias, Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves, LOTR movies , Sound of Music (don't ask about the "Edelweiss Incident"), Harry Potter movies, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mr. Mom, Kevin Smith movies ("You masterbate more than anyone on the planet" "Everybody knows that, tell us something NOBODY knows!" "When you do it, you think about guys." "Not all the time..."), Office Space, Zoolander (But only for the Mugatu scene at the end "Doesn't anybody else see this? I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!!")... I'll add more as I think of them...

Television:

BBCAmerica, Discovery and Discovery Science channels are on my TV 24/7. Love the weekend marathons of Pyramids, Mummies, & Tombs. Anything archeological. Anything pathological (autopsies and murder/crime solving). LOVE Family Guy. On the shallow side, I've been totally enthralled by the Surreal Life and Celebrity Fit Club 2 on VH1. And OMG! I got totally sucked in by "Faith & Hope" the other night, does that make me gay?

Books:

I loved the Harry Potter series. I used to read more, but I try to read as much as I can. Favorite topics: Mid-life Crisis survival books, Spirituality and Alternative Medicine, Raising Teenagers, Reiki Healing, Herbology, Gardening, Easy-Read Biographies like Chyna Doll's book. Al Franken's political commentary books. OMIGOD, I'm becoming a liberal! I'm a big sci-fi & fantasy fan, consumptively reading every volume of Darkover (Marion Zimmer-Bradley), Dragon Riders/Pern (Anne McCaffrey), Xanth (Piers Anthony), the Requisite Tolkien and C.S. Lewis anthologies, and the Thieves' World series edited by Lynn Abbey and Robert Lynn Aspirin.
