Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love

About Me

So who is this Courtney guy?

Who am I? I've been called a rouge, a hopeless romantic, a fighter, an artist... and most recently, an Urban Renaissance Man. Simply put, I'm just a guy who loves art, comics, graffiti, literature, martial arts, music, poetry , video games, and women. I go by many nicknames... Ether, Overlord Zetta, Bakutaku, Drunkenbakaotaku, Zatire, DOPE, IKNO, Derrik Thunderbane, Fro, and Apoca-lipZ... Take your pick.

Everything I needed to know, I learned by playing Japanese dating-simulation video games

* Never give a woman a 1/8-scale figurine of herself for her birthday.
* If all of your stats are high enough, and you answer her questions right, you can have a woman blushing in 12 months tops.
* If you don't study for tests, you will fail.
* Sometimes, despite what your mother may tell you, it is beneficial to sleep for three weeks at a time.
* Every woman in the world has her own theme music, audible from the moment she steps into your field of view, until the moment she leaves.
* Pink hair is good; green hair is evil.
* "Your karaoke sounded great," is not always the right answer.
* "They look delicious," when a woman asks you what you think of fish in an aquarium is never the right answer.
* There do exist women who like pro wrestling.
* There do exist women who sometimes do the asking-out.
* If she has a Gold Card, she is not likely to consider going to a pawn shop as an acceptable date.

Sometimes what you're looking for is staring right back at you.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Favorite Quote

"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up. "- James Baldwin “In the old days villains had moustaches and kicked the dog. Audiences are smarter today. They don't want their villain to be thrown at them with green limelight on his face. They want an ordinary human being with failings.”- Alfred Hitchcock

Music:

I really love music. I believe that music, regardless of genre or language, is a universal link into each and every individual. I listen to all genres of music, with the exception of Crunk, cause that just nonsense... and I'm not hating, thats just how I feel about it, so shut the f**k up and accept it. Most recently I've been into more international music than usual; specifically African house music. My favorite genres of music are Soul, Funk, Disco, R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, Jazz, and house. I'm a true Hip Hop-Head, and damnit, the genre is NOT dead! There are allot of good artists out there doing their thing, you find them, cause I only have patience for one shout out. The #1 song that can get me hyped, no matter what, is The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army". It'll wake me when I'm sleepiest, and invigorate me when I need that vigor! Here's that shout out you were waiting for... Finally, my all time favorite musician is: Prince! He's the best! humming "When Doves Cry".

Movies:

I seem to have an affinity for anime, and film noir. But all film is kool with me, except Hostel, and documentaries with 100 year old men explaining things they shouldn't be forced to remember.

Television:

Smallville rules, and if you think differently, you're entitled to your own opinion.
I'm a fan of these Anime/Manga Titles: Sorcerer Hunters,Naruto,Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sorcerer Stabber Orphen, Orphen : Revenge, Saiyuki, Saiyuki: Reload, Love Hina, Fullmetal Alchemist, King of Bandits Jing, Inyuyasha, Dragonball, Akira, Nasuicaa, Spirited Away, Casshan: The Robot Hunter, Tenchi(all the series), Samurai Champloo, Martian Successor Nadesico, Gundam(all series), Negima, The Guyver, Fruits Basket, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho,Digimon, FLCL, Excell Saga, Generator Gawl, Ruroni Kenshin, Trigun, Scryed, and Zoids!

Books:

Hagakure, A Midsummer Night's Dream,Understanding Comics, Graffiti World, Catcher in the Rye, A Streetcar Named Desire, Great Gatsby, Death of a Salesman, Fences, and Black Boy. Those are just a few of my favorites. I read alot, my book collection (and Library bill) are constantly increasing, lolz.

Heroes:

José Ruiz, Gene Romero, Jameel Khaja, Peter Khun, Matt Morris, Scott McCloud, Shakespeare, Frank Frazetta,Ken Akumatsu, Ray Omishi & Satoru Akahori, Aaron McGruder, Richard Wright, Jean-Michel Basquiat,Nicholas Ganz, James Baldwin , Langston Hughes,Malcolm X, Maya Angelou, Shirley Chisholm, Bob Marley, "and all the freedom fighters of yesterday, today, and especially tomorrow". The first four are personal Heroes, who continue to motivate me in various ways. If you don't know the others, I suggest you start googling and get to wikipedia to find out.
