LaTiDa Rapper/Hip-Hop artist
Pittsburgh, PA
They want a chick who can give them the most, raps Pittsburgh-based performer LaTiDa, giving others a peek into her independent spirit. Following in the footsteps of such greats as Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, LaTiDa has been working on releasing her second debut album, silenting those who thought she couldn't do it again, titled "You Still Doubt Me?"
A native of Peoria, ILL, LaTiDa moved to Pittsburgh, PA at the age of two. Born Latisha Inez Burns, at the age of eleven, she started rapping and recording music with her father. LaTiDa went on to pursue music, but was unsure about the business at such a young age. She went on to continue her education finishing high school with honors and completing college at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. While in college she met up with some other rappers who encouraged her to continue her music endeavors.
In November, 2003, LaTiDa took on this request and started recording music under Mighty Gee Productions in Suffolk, Va. She recorded and released her first single, "Make A Move" ft. En Sabah Nur, produced by Mighty Gee. This started a buzz around the surrounding areas. Other songs followed that. After graduating, LaTiDa returned back to Pittsburgh, and met up with producer, Da Buttonpusha. She started recorded music under Just Pressin' Buttons Productions, and they formed a group called "JPB". They performed in different cities and on Pittsburghs public cable channel, PC-TV. A while later, LaTiDa decided to pursue her own music, venturing off on her own.
LaTiDa's 2006 debut album, "Underrated", showcases her laidback style, sweet voice and catchy phases with 8 Hip-Hop songs, featuring infectious hooks. The tracks were produced by Mighty Gee and Corey Gales. LaTiDa wrote all the songs on the project. LaTiDa is now focusing on her new project, 2007's "You Still Doubt Me?", with 12 up-beat, smooth outed tracks, set to catch the listeners ear. LaTiDa also has her own cable show on Pittsburgh PC-TV Channel 21. The LaTiDa Fitness/Hip-Hop show showcases fitness expects and hip-hop artists to present their knowledge and ability.
