sofia coppola, anita roddick (r.i.p), joe wright, j.k rowling, alan ball and generally nice, open minded people to have interesting conversations with.
at the moment, songs that have no words yet speak to me in some way. i generally like a bit of 90s pop, rock/indie, alternative, dance tunes to go crazy to while drunk, singer/songwriter types, with a wee dash of folk, world and jazz. most frequently played on my ipod: amelie soundtrack, idlewild, tracy chapman, imogen heap, the white stripes, bjork, joanna newsom, the lost in translation and marie antoinette soundtracks, gregory and the hawk, n-sync, ashlee simpson, chemical brothers, rage against the machine, johnny cash, kelly clarkson, natalie imbruglia, audioslave, damien rice, panic!at the disco, alanis morresette, michelle branch, kt tunstall, amy studt, kate bush, counting crows, franz ferdinand, jose gonzales, eurythmics, arctic monkeys, christina a, the shins, placebo, seth lakeman, jamie cullum etc.
little miss sunshine, amelie, festen, serenity, the prestige, snakes on a plane, star wars, the first matrix, donnie darko, american beauty, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, lost in translation, marie antoinette, moulin rouge, before sunrise and before sunset, cruel intentions, 10 things i hate about u, brick, return to oz, the good disney movies and loads more. each genre has its gem/s.
heroes!, six feet under (where my myspace name is from btw), firefly, scrubs, my name is earl, black books, sex and the city, desperate housewives, ER, ugly betty, lost, friends, family guy, CSI, futurama, the OC, american dad, and i'm addicted to neighbours and costume dramas...i obviously dont get out enough! Oh who remembers the genius of 90s kids tv? The crystal maze, sabrina the teenage witch, clarissa knows it all, the demon headmaster, the queens nose, bernards watch, maid marian and her merry men, gladitors, goosebumps, oh the list goes on. and that mad gameshow that was on different levels in a tower, and the kids had to go in a giant alphabet soup bowl and play this creepy chess game where they disappeared under the darth vader-style bad guy's cloak if they failed it. only me and rona seem to remember it - what the hell was the name of it?!
i dont read as much as i should(hardly surprising considering the amount of tv and film listed above).jane austen and the bronte sisters were actually quite kool girls. plays are underrated reading material - see tennessee williams, shakespeare, arthur miller, ann marie di mambro, oscar wilde for details.oh yeah and i read HP 7 in 2 days, and unashamedly i can say it was amazing. also recently read little children by Tom Perrotta which was great.and i read tons of stuff for uni, so yeah, thats my excuse for not reading as much as i should.
people who actually do something useful with their lives and help other people/make other people happy. rachel corrie and those across the world like her.
