I first wanted to play the guitar when I learned that the sounds coming from the radio were made by just that, and fell in love. At the age of twelve, I bugged my mother to teach me to play her guitar, and it wasn't very long before I needed more than just folksie chords on an old acoustic.
By the age of fourteen I had finally saved enough money from my paper-route to buy my first electric guitar - a crappy, used, no-name stratocaster copy and a small 8" practice amp. But it still wasn't enough.
Being self-taught gives for a slower process, but persistence persevered and inspiration never ran short. Today still, I can't get enough of the guitar, and work both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Pensive. Pensive is known for writing "earworms," or songs that crawl into your head through the ear, and get stuck in there for days. Though my work with Pensive is usually on the lighter side, I do take music very seriously, and love what I do.
I come from a very large family - the oldest of 5 children, with extended family gatherings consisting of a pretty hefty number of people. Needless to say my family is important to me both as my support system, and to keep my grounded and always aspiring to be better. (The people that know you best are the hardest to impress.)
Down-time for me consists of sitting back and enjoying life, whether by a fire with a cold soda on a summer night or taking in a buddy's show and shootin' some stick.
I'm a hockey nut, both watching and playing. I can be found at the HSBC arena for a Buffalo sabres game during the season, or at a local hole-in-the-wall roller hockey rink with some friends for a pick-up game.
I'm a grown man that plays video games. So what? I like the outdoors, indoors, or no doors. I don't like to lock my doors, or close my windows. (Though I do triple check to make sure they are.) I prefer naked feet to shoes, and I'm barefoot whenever possible - about 95% of the time - but I'm not a hippy.
I'm a spiritual person, finding an intimate connection with everything around me. I don't kill bugs, unless I'm dropping one into a spiderweb to see who wins. (Or unless it's really gross.) :-)
I'm very laid back, mellow, accepting - it takes a lot to rattle my cage, but I do have a temper if you push me that far. I despise stereotypes and intolerance of any sort. I consider myself well-educated on a great number of subjects, but always try to learn more.
If I haven't covered enough, feel free to ask anything - I'm a friendly guy.
