The more people I meet, the more I like my dog(s)!

About Me

If you truly know me really well, I don’t need to put anything here. If you only think you know me, think again. Don’t be fooled by the perceptions of others and don’t judge a book by its cover. So BOOM!

My Interests

Music (metal, hard rock, alternative, blues...a lot of genres but NOT country!), guitar, of course animals (they are my work, they are my life), being vegetarian, hockey, watch wrestling (when the storylines are good), yoga, deep thinking, spirituality (not "religious"), being intense and annoyed (LOL). Of course TV and vegging, too...

I'd like to meet:

The elusive one. However, if you're talking people who are "famous"...hmm... Steve Vai definitely. I already met Nuno Bettencourt/Gary Cherone/Extreme (well, got an autograph) in 1993. The Undertaker. Chris Jericho. Steve Irwin is dead, so that's not possible. Anderson Cooper. (What a smart cutie!) I don't know! Any seemingly cool person who does something I am into! Ooh…maybe Philippe Cousteau (yummy). UPDATE: I met Extreme "again"! And boy, was it wonderful! So nice, sweet, gracious... Now I'd like to say that I'd like to "meet" them again many more times! They really are great.

Music:

Geez, didn't this already get covered in "General"? Okay, okay...I'll list some performers and bands. Steve Vai, Extreme and Nuno & Gary-related projects, System Of A Down, 311, , Metallica, Mudvayne, Avenged Sevenfold, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Korn, Duran Duran, a lot of 80s music...I could go on, but I won't.

Movies:

Interview With The Vampire, The Lost Boys, Princess Bride, Breakfast Club, Aliens, Pirates Of The Caribbean, This Is Spinal Tap, Amadeus, Jurassic Park, Shawn Of The Dead...etc, etc. Don't see too many movies unless they really suit my interests...

Television:

Let's see...there are a lot of different shows I watch... I watch a lot of news, particularly Anderson Cooper 360. The Daily Show & Colbert Report, Everybody Loves Raymond, King Of Queens, Frasier, America's Funniest Videos, ER, Emergency Vets, Animal Precinct, Dog Town, The Soup, Kathy Griffin, Little People Big World, Home Improvement... I've started getting into Gene Simmons Family Jewels. His son Nick is pretty funny...

Books:

Animal books (specifically dog behavior), Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, etc...

Heroes:

Steve Vai is my ultimate guitar hero. Nuno Bettencourt is next, but I must admit I like him for more than just his guitar work, too. ; ) His music is first, though! I guess anyone who does something to make animal's lives better, but not anyone like peta. They do more harm than good for animals. If you want to support animals, support organizations like The Humane Society and ASPCA! ..

My Blog

Extreme: The best soul food ever.

Sunday was the fourth time seeing this incredible band in concert...and they did not disappoint. I didn't think they would, but I had no idea they'd be so soul-fulfilling like THAT. I felt like I did...

Why do people suck most of the time? (Revised 9/28/08.)

Sorry, but it's true. I know I'm making a blanket statement, but in the confines of my life at this particular moment, it truly seems to apply with few exceptions. People you think are your true,...

Peace, love, and good happiness stuff

Will the new year truly be a new year? Will the new year be a better year? Will peace, love, and good happiness stuff seep into the world or will things continue to go in the direction they have been?...

Much ado about nothing

Another year... My purpose and true joy in life continues to be animals. They are the angels that soothe the soul. They are the ones that are truly there for you. They don't disappoint like people do....

Happy, happy, happy!

So I was told that my first (and what was to be the only one for a long while) blog was depressing. While it is a poignant poem that struck me when taking English Literature in college, I shall follow...

"Not Waving But Drowning"

Nobody heard him, the dead man, But still he lay moaning: I was much further out than you thought And not waving but drowning. Poor chap, he always loved larking And now he's dead It must have been to...
