At the age of twelve he got his first personal computer. And with the mod tracker program "Fasttracker" he remixed all kind of famous songs. Perhaps you could say that it all started there or at least the interest in music. Josh Beat and his friends where deejaying at small venues for the local youth and it came to be like that for many years. The dj career evolved into a business and at the age of eighteen a company was registered.Three years later he felt the need to educate his sound engineer skills. And attended a course for half a year. That course included studio recording and live recording and after graduation he could title himself "Sound Engineer". This was 2001 and during the course he learned to handle midi sequencer programs, samplers and other equipment more suitable for making electronic music.
Now back at his parents town, he purchased a studio of the more professional kind and started experimenting with different sounds and beats. At this point the music where sounding more like pop/trance than house and todays sound would evolve a few years later.
At this point several artist names and web pages where being worn out. Like Spin Evans, Nique and Ruffy.
At the year 2003 Josh moved from Kristinehamn to the bigger town Gothenburg hoping to work as a dj and sound engineer, which he has been doing from the age of twelve to the age of twenty five. But that business as many know can be a bit tricky. It´s hard to do it full time and making it pay your bills.
No music was made at all between 2004 and 2007. But in the summer of 2007 at his vacation it was Gothenburg´s rainiest summer in centuries and the music making computer was powered on. After a few hours of experimentation the track "Or does it" was born and this would be three weeks free from work and many late nights. And one night at the pub the name "Josh Beat" was established in the mind of the man who are making the new sound of Sweden.
